Superb candid portrait. For some reason he reminds me of my cousin, who is not Asian.

Peter, Peter: I am shouting this from my rooftop: Congratulations on your 4th placing. Should have been wearing a ribbon. What an outstanding capture of the Oriental quiet wisdom. Sir, this image floored me upon first sight.

yay! I was one of your many 7s. I would say something about American_Horse's comment, because I think he's totally wrong, but I think that's so obvious that no more need be said... anyway, congratulations on your excellent placement in this difficult challenge.

another 4th... wow Doc, is 4 your lucky number?
Wonderful photo!! So so wonderful!
I love the expression, the colors, the shallow DOF (hehehe I say that about all your photos, don't I?)
Such a perfect photo!! Congratulations!!

While even in my crazy part of the world this look might well be considered "exotic" and not conservative : )

Nice lighting, detail, expressive model.

Great portrait. I gave it a 7. I would have given it a higher score but I felt that having him in the foreground so separate from everyone else didn't fulfill the challenge very well.

Excellent photo. Love the colors, and the depth of field. I'm guessing this one will do really well, as it should.

Fantastic shallow DOF to isolate your subject. I would have preferred it more if the subject was not looking my way. Nice sharp focus and good lighting.

DNMC

Answering your PM.

So, I can agree with everyone else that is giving you high marks that this is a fine pix. Your work is very clean. Your portfolio has proven that you do have an eye.

But unlike people that vote on emotion and not within the confines of this challenge, I claim DNMC? Why? Because this is not singled out. This is a candid shot.

To convince me of singled out needs at least one more subject weather a person or thing. Yes, your bg is blurred, but does not single out your main subject.

Great light, nice texture, color great, dof good, nice angle, b&w good, overall great.

Sorry for the low score.

Wow.
Amazing portrait here. Did I say wow?
Not sure if the isolation from the crowd was by distance as much as minimal depth of field, but who cares - I love this shot!

Interesting face. I would have moved the individual to the left to give the eye more space and avoid an almost centered image.

Nicely done, DOF well used. The dead in the middle composition is a tad boring, which is my only remark to this very interesting shot.

The challenge asked for a person to be singled out in a crowd. This is a stunning candid portrait but maybe a little short of the challenge
