Went to PEI for a couple days vacation this past August. One evening, my wife and I could see that we were going to be in for an awesome sunset, so we decided to race for the coast and catch it.

However, if you've ever travelled on PEI, you know that their road signage is VERY bad and you can get lost in a heartbeat.

That's what happened to us.

Even with my wife's excellent map reading and navigational skills, we got lost and never made the coast before sunset. I was very disappointed as we were driving back to our motel.

We drove past this car for sale on the side of the road. I decided to turn around and take a few shots since I hadn't taken a good photo-a-day yet. Light was fading fast and it was starting to rain, as can be seen in the right portion of the sky. Also, if you look closely at the image, you can see that the radio antenna on the car was wobbling in the wind.

This is a very heavy edit with lots of masks and layers. It's probably the best black and white image I have ever taken.

I know I left a comment during this challenge. But I couldn't help myself I had to leave another, I just think this photo is awesome. You took a rather ordinary subject, and with a great composition and an incredible tonal range created a real masterpiece. Sorry you didn't make it to the coast, but in this case, I'm glad you didn't.

To me this photo drew me in on the thumbnail and while I like it a lot there seems to be something else that could be done to it to give it a little punch. I do like it very much though but I just couldn't give it a ten. So a nine will have to do.

Beautiful, lvoe the B&W with the classic car. Nice soft feel here.

I like the contrasted rendering. Interesting Line tension

This is terrific because of the contrast between the two elements of the scene; the soft, organic forms of the farmland, versus the hard, surgical lines of the car. And the For Sale sign adds a potential story for the restless mind to grapple with. Lovely B&W processing, too - the representation of different parts of the tonal range seems to be deliberately and appropriately uneven (I mean you seem to have used something a bit more sophisticated than boosted contrast across the board to achieve the dramatic effect that you have). 8.

Excellent photograph, definately my favorite of the challenge. Not just because I love cars, but because the range of tones is great (are great?, please forgive my weak grammar). The composition is also very good. "10" from me, good luck!

Very nice idea, but the forground is a bit too dark and, as a result, the tires aren't distinguishable from the ground and detail is lost in much of the foreground area.
