thanks all for voting on and liking my entry. i had actually done a few shots that i was considering submitting that were more like figure studies. but i still wanted to do something out of the ordinary, stunning, theatrical, that left it open to the viewer to the interpret or a read a story into.

that's how i came up with the shot i submitted. i had a number of ideas for titles, but whatever it was had to capture the 'fantasy' quality of the image. my favorite alternate title took into account the chair and was called 'executive muse'.

my other outtakes are here (warning: bare breasts ahead), if you are interested. i am very interested to hear what people would have thought of them and if any of them would have been preferred. personally, i very much liked the shots 'sea nymph' and 'composure'.

Which are your favorites?

This was one of my favorites from the start. The mask is very mysterious and there is definitely a dreamlike quality.

The lighting here is choice. The soft tones of her skin and the subtle greys, blues, and whites go together nicely. Composition is excellent, I love that you have her in such a straight line on the diagonal. Almost like she's seperating the dark from the light. Brilliant!

Mask idea is great. A little mystery. Don't like what she's doing with her arms. I think you might be cheating her on a cup size when she's stretched out like this. Exposure is a little strange. Seems a bit too bright in the upper left and the model is maybe a little underexposed on her left side. Overall good picture quality and a good idea. Shorten the pose and make her a little bigger in the frame and I'd be apt to score it higher.7

I really like how this shot turned out. The diagonal line straight through and the stretched out pose work wonderfully. The lighting is great. The mask is a wonderful touch. The result is playful, but also very alluring. I'm sold. 10

interesting angle, nice clear image, slightly erotic without being overboard.

I like the composition here a lot as well as the lighting. The only thing bugging me (minor) is the right foot - gap between the toes. I think it looks a bit awkward. There are a few spots along the rightside waist that blend into the backround. Not sure if those could have been darkened a bit to bring more definition there with some spot editiing. Good job though - 8

Very well done! Lovely image! One of the best this challenge. Very nice lighting. Three things I feel could have helped this photo: 1-no mask. But i understand that it was probably a request from the model. I can live with that. :-) 2- slightly tilting the chin higher and perhaps letting the lips open a littlebit to convey a sense of relaxation and content. 3- Watch the elbows. For some reason unknown to me, many women can ply their elbows in the wrong direction, giving a sense of weirdness to the pose. All in all, an excellent shot! 7

I like this one. the chair, the mask, the original angle, really add up to a beautiful and interesting shot.

but with this crowd you never know... "why is she sitting on a chair?, why the mask?, the fact that I can't see the shadow of here arms really bothers me..."

hope this is not the case 'cause you have one of the better ones.

great job

LM

i think more blueish tones would make a greater impression, love the composition though

nice lighting overall, but maybe a little hot on the left. creative layout (pardon the pun), though I'd have preferred her without the mask...by design or just shy? It makes me look at MY Ikea chair differently...

This is a good shot and setup. I am not sure If I like the overexposure/shadowy aspect to this shot, but the rest is spot on.7.

great photo but the legs and arms look too thin and long ...8/10

This looks like it took a lot of time to sert up. Wish the shaddow were darker and we could see the shaddow of her hands. Brights are a bit too bright on the chair and her right arm.

Great lighting and the simple use of the office chair works for me. I'm not sure about the mask though. I don't see its purpose in this shot. I like the diagonal separating the high key with e shadows. The lines are simple and work well. 8

Nice composition and excellent use of lighting to create the shadows on the floor.

Really like this one, the composition is good, lighting is excellent, really love the shadows. Maybe it would been better to show all the shadow above to the right, but I might be wrong. Gave it a 9 and would like to see it in top 3.

very interesting shot.. I like the "long" feeling of the pic. Very cool. Good cropping too ... the model flows from corner to corner. Jacko. 9

Wow, lovely model. The stretching works well, especially the leg. Great lighting, shame about the glare on the sofa. The shadow on the all-white background is very effective. A superb fantasy picture. 10

interesting shot, cool use of diagonals, interesting lighting and a pretty model. Still, I think this would be one of those pictures I'd just walk straight past in a gallery. I think it would probably have worked better in black and white.

I like how she is the only thing with color in this photo. Makes her stand out all that much more. Great quality & pic. =)

One of the twop two in the challenge (from my perspective). I like the strong diagonal and the complexity of the shadows. The highights on her body seem to draw you attention right to the mask . Very nice.
