I thought I'd try something a little different for myself here! This is my wife's lucky bamboo. Been eyeing it off for a shot for a few days. Used a strobe to the plants left with a softbox about 1.5 meters from the subject. Used another strobe behind and below with a red filter for the backlight.

Editing was easy:-
Boosted saturation slightly
Cropped, resized and added border
A little USM

Great job on this one as well. The colors are fantastic and the centering is just spot on ;)

I don't believe that this is actually backlit.

Lovely shapes and colors, simple, but very effective. Seems barely backlit, but I love it.

I rather would call it 'sidelit Bamboo', for me it has to low backlight

Dramatic, strong, image, and I like the back-lighting effect..... It has the 'wow' factor as well.....

This is funny. Great picture. I was just laughing at your need to put "backlit" in your title as I felt the exact same need and have a similar shot. Only criticism is I think I would have desaturated the reds some. 7

Nice image. I think its really important in an image like this to ensure that the background is 100% black. I can see the haze of horizontal lines in the background. Nothin a little levels adjustment in PS cant fix though.
