Funny, there was a thread earlier this month discussing the merits of a good title, and while I did not hesitate on entering the picture, I vacillated back and forth on the title. I stuck with my original title, but a friend recommended "Tail Wind" instead. I looked at the picture with that title a few days and it wound up just looking like a seagull standing in a tail wind. However, with the "honey" title, I felt it conveyed a humorous story - imagine a proud bird standing there in this new and huge plumage wondering if this is a good look for it or not. Maybe I'm weird, but that just seemed funny to me - at least more interesting than a seagull in the wind (ooh, another title option!). Hope you liked it as well.
As for the picture, it was just so tack-sharp that I just had to enter it. Gotta love that 70-200L IS! I also loved the contrast of the white feathers on the blue ocean.
Post processing: slight crop, RAW conversion, resize, USM, borders. Not a lot of processing for a Free Study. |

| I like the capture of the wind ruffling the feathers of the bird. The texture is excellent and the composition very good. The white is not overbearing and the works well with the blue background. I gave it a ten. |
