This image has a very simple setup. One Daffodil in a light cube with two Alien Bees behind it.

Post processed very little.

Hard to say if this is backlit or not. My guess is that it was backlit, but I think more emphasis should have been put on the backlight rather than the ambient light. Maybe shooting this with a light coming from below and behind as the only light source?

The daffodile shows such an exquisite royalty & mysterious strength in observable frailty. One of the earliest blooms of the season, it shows its colors weeks before its flashier competitors who are all slow getting out of the bed due to "extreme" cold.

You know I like this but...I guess you saw that comming.....sorry, it is just a bit too blown out. It may be just in saving it to the size needed to enter it you may have lost some detail of the white petals, that is all I can see that would make this even better.

Flower is a little bit over exposed, and there is light bleeding around the flower stem.

IMO colours don't look natural - yellow is too greenish (in the frame, too), white petals have a blue cast. not enough contrast overall
