Problem 1: What lens to photograph the Battleship?? MACRO of Course!!!
(esp. when it is all you have with you)

Problem 2: How do you back light an entire Battleship? Alien Bees B2,000,000?

Well... Last day submission change. This is the Battleship USS Alabama, which makes it's home in Mobile, Alabama. It is perminatly mired on the bay floor and, as you can see, tilted after Katrina.

BTW, reducing this picture to 640 pixels was just criminal... the central tower is filled with small details and equipment.

Wow, love the transition of color in the sky and the massiveness of the ship. Nicely done.

Nice pic of the Alabama undergoing post-Katrina repairs... the damaged aircraft hangar in the background reinforces this idea...

Lower the exposure. Change position to block the lights on the right. Soften the focus. Compose/crop out the cranes.

I think the ship has become a little dark and slightly becomes a silhouette.

WOW...impressive...great colour...the left hand crane is distracting because it's cropped...perhaps it would have been better to include it completely or crop it out completely...nice and sharp
