This is beautiful and certainly as worthy as anything I've produced ;-)

WOW. What texture. Thanks for telling us how you did it; now I can try. :) Chalk up another favorite ...

This is a tremendous photo. A great macro image and beautiful tones on the contours of the leaf. Adding to faves...
10/12/2006 08:26:47 AM
The colour in this is superb and though you finished 61st...out of 829, that's a good result...I like that little bit if blue at the top
07/28/2006 05:46:01 PM
An absolute belter of a picture! The texture is great, the lighting is spot on and the colour is so vibrant it dominates to exactly the right degree in my opinion. I even like the balance of the blue corner versus the black corner.

This has to be the best picture of a leaf of all time.
07/17/2006 07:42:52 PM
this is a great, great, photograph
07/03/2006 10:45:35 PM
This wins a ribbon 8 times out of 10 in any challenge except this one. This is probably the best looking leaf I've ever seen.

this is beautiful....great gorgeous greens and wonderful lighting and textures, the detail is magnificent. It is not the work of someone who is a bad photographer or gets bad scores. Comments are your feelings of someone else's work. You are entitled to them regardless of your own photographic abilities. As for scores, I get bad ones A LOT. You could drive a Mack truck through the margin of my scores in the two current challenges, LOL! Besides, you never know when you might comment something to someone that will make a big difference in their learning process.

Wow - only just seen this, and it is a great shot. The colour is amazing, but it is the composition that makes it.

Good image with nice details.I like it.

Great pic, the focus and the color is wonderful, but I wish the blue in the upper left corner had been removed. My eye keeps getting drawn to it.

The color and texture are amazing. 'Emerald' is certainly right. I want to eat this photograph
01/29/2006 09:29:26 PM
Tremendous detail, color and texture. I like the composition and lighting. The only issue (and it's very minor) is the black bottom right corner vs the blue top left corner. I would have preferred the corners matching just for symmetry - but that's probably just me being a little nit picky. This gets one of my 10 votes this challenge.

If you had cropped the image a bit tighter on the left and right, you would have emphasized the image's abstract quality: it would have taken away all hints to determine where the leaf ends, thus creating much more impact. 8.

lovely color, only thing that takes away from the overall appeal of the images is the blue in the upper left corner, should have cropped it closer. nice image and texture.
01/28/2006 04:51:17 AM
A perfect exposure. There isn't anywhere on this image that could be said is under or overexposed. Well done. The clarity of this is spectacular as well. 10.

nice pix, great lines, nice color, good light, shadows need tweeking, good comp, nice texture, overall a nice attempt
01/26/2006 04:20:25 PM
great color and texture
01/26/2006 07:49:18 AM
Amazing textures, amazing color.....
01/25/2006 02:27:25 PM
What lovely texture, colour, tone and lighting. The only possible slight downside might be the small triangle of blue in the top left corner, as far as I'm concerned.
01/24/2006 03:08:38 PM
Gorgeous! I would have cropped a little tighter to get rid of the blue in the upper left corner.
01/23/2006 07:33:25 PM
Beautiful! Just get rid of that tiny distracting upper left corner...
01/23/2006 09:46:42 AM
Nice post processing it is emeral kie. The open space at each corner defines the leaf too. -9-
01/22/2006 11:05:03 AM
This photo has wonderful texture and colour. The veins of the leaf lead the eyes out to all the various parts of the leaf. Nice lighting on this shot as well. Excellent work.
01/21/2006 03:20:49 PM
I really like this but I think a slightly closer crop to get rid of the blue corner would improve this even more.
01/21/2006 10:00:59 AM
thats about the closest i'ver ever seen a leaf, well done....10
01/20/2006 09:09:45 PM
Nice green hue
01/20/2006 11:46:56 AM
Luscious!
01/19/2006 08:51:35 AM
Looks almost velvety. Very well done.
01/18/2006 09:08:42 PM
A very nicely done photo, especially for DPC. The color screams at you, some nice lines, great texture..

For me though, the subject matter is "same ol' same ol'" you know? I'm not voting on the challenge, so it's no biggie, but I like to mention my personal tastes too.
01/18/2006 03:19:37 PM
the touch of blue in the corner is quite distracting. a slightly tighter crop would have been better in my opinion. 7
01/18/2006 08:28:36 AM
i love green ... 10
01/18/2006 03:51:00 AM
Natures wonder it's all there and free - but you have to observe them. Well done but I would have prefered it without the black lower right and blue upper left corners.
01/18/2006 01:21:34 AM
10 from me...good luck!

my birthstone...yeah!
01/17/2006 10:05:30 PM
Beautiful
01/17/2006 01:29:32 PM
Great lighting and wonderful perspective on a good subject. I think it's a little too saturated. I kind of wish it were in black and white so that I could appreciate the subtle tones a little better.
01/17/2006 01:56:26 AM
Amazing color. I don't like the blue part in the upper left corner, but other than that, excellent work.
01/16/2006 07:41:25 PM
Somehow it is sensual, nice crisp picture. 9
01/16/2006 07:36:20 PM
The texture and contrast in your picture are amazingly real. What a wonderful closeup!

so greeeen!!! the one blue corner at top doesn't fit :(
01/16/2006 05:13:01 PM
Wow - such detail, so much green. This should do well with the voters (like me) who are currently facing a bleak colorless winter. I love the little bit of blue in the corner, it reminds me that this is a leaf, growing under the blue sky, ad not just an abstract of branching lines.
01/16/2006 10:47:17 AM
Nice translucent patterns. I would have taken a slight more closeup approach to remove the distracting background (top left and bottom right) and change slightly the back lighting to remove teh cast shadow of the stem and and brighten the center piece.
