Sorry, David, my comment left near the challenge's end was less than tactful. What I probably should have said was something more like this-
I can understand the use of dice, as symbols of chance and randomness, to function as a metaphor for life. But the thing you do with dice is to roll them, not stack them. Stacked dice are obviously not in use, so I feel like that goes against the message you seem to be trying to convey. I think a motion capture would be more appropriate.
Red, sanguine color that it is, has connotations of vitality and mortality. I can see the link to your title and concept, but I think it could have been conveyed in a stronger fashion--perhaps as a solid background element, rather than an active graphic element. As it is, the shapes draw the eye, but there's really nothing to look at in the redness.
Stacks, strobes, and colors aside, what I don't understand is how the mirroring supports the concept of life as randomness.
So what my comment from 15 minutes before the challenge's end was an expression of was that I think this photograph is lacking conceptual clarity.
