Challenge: Shapes II (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Canon EF 35-80mm f/4.0-5.6 III
Location: My living room, Fremont, California
Date: Jan 1, 2006
Aperture: f8.0
Shutter: 30 secs

I thought I'd do an interpretation of shapes instead of taking it so literally. I was also maybe thinking of doing bent out of shape.

This was taken with my wide angle. I put the three flowers at three different stages (it was difficult to find the three that angled correctly). I stuck them in those green foam cubes that florists use (called Oasis) and used a piece of black construction paper as the background. Very little editing, just adjusted levels and cropped, sized and added border. If this was Advanced Editing I would've like to do some touch up, but this was Basic Editing, oh well.

Wow. This is great!

I noticed that your background colour isn't a true black.

I think it looks very nice like that. Adds a bit of softness rather than a harsh background.

I am going to guess that this was done intentionally.

I'm a big fan of the triptych form.
