I wonder if she came out of fridge?
01/16/2006 05:29:42 PM
This is really an awesome picture. It's bold and different and I applaud you for having the courage to enter it - and I'm glad you did. See all those 1's you got? Knee-jerk reactions - in a way, you can be proud of those instinctively low votes, because you've taken people (waaay) outside of their comfort zone. I think that is one of the most valuable ends of photography: make people see and think about things that they wouldn't usually. You have accomplished that well in this image. My congratulations.

I think it's funny how DrAchoo thought this shot was from me ;-) Well, it does seem like a shot I'd take, but well ya beat me to it. Good work on this one. It's hard to score high around here though with open shows of sexuality. BUT, look how many good comments ya got ;-)

Don't get discouraged, keep 'em coming.

BTW, this shot may have gained a few more points if you had used only the refrigerator light for lighting, shooting with your camera on a tripod at a long shutter speed. This would have definitely made it seem more like the girl had popped out of the refrigerator.

Hey crazy lady- what a way to start playing around on DPC! Always begin with a bang, that's what I always say...

Hope that the disparaging comments don't keep you from participating. DPC is, if nothing else, a good way to toughen yourself up to criticism, which you're going to need in NYC I fear!

She must have come down for a midnight snack and poooof! Out jumped the genie! Works for me! I gave it a 7. The title's a little miss leading...I would have tried...oh say....Midnight Snack. LOL! As a basic editing challenge there's not much more you could do to the image except go through your pockets looking for loose change! If this were an advanced editing challenge...I would try darkening the area behind the refrigerator and stove...possibly with the burn tool. I think this would accentuate the warm light from the refrigerator and the warm tones in the wood flooring. I like the concept of the image and the humorous side of it. The reason I gave it seven...get out the dry ice. Last but not least...although there is some nudity and kissing here...bless your little hearts...I don't believe the image is inappropriate for the challenge...portrayed very tastefully...pardon the pun! I would have given it a ten if dry ice vapor was coming from the fridge. Just a great image!!

Astonished at the low score this received... I still think this is excellent (10) - keep up the good work!

Amazing. 64 trolls and 61 prudes ;)
I have no idea what ad you were talking about in the title but I thought the picture worked well. I gave you a 7.

I'm honestly surprised this didn't even break a 5 at least as well as the amount of people that gave you a 1. I'm guessing they're quite close minded or just one of those people who gives everyone a 1 in hopes for their picture to score better.

Are you kidding me? I am all for gratuitous lesbian sex shots, but hell, this is a masterpiece.

Great shot! Provoking in some sense, but I cetainly love it. I personally think if you could have made it look like she popped out from the fridge, boy that would be awesome. None the less, I give this shot a 7. Great composition.

Not sure how it meets the criteria, but a well composed, sharp shot.

Sexy but don't get it. Still it is interesting what is going on here, the cheap exploitation of naked women for a big number vote. Love it. LOL

What?
01/02/2006 01:59:23 PM
so what is going wrong?
01/02/2006 12:38:36 PM
Well, the title makes absolutely no sense to me, must be an inside joke, I guess. Compared with other entries it doesn't give me an "oops" kind of feeling. (Although I'm sure there are many male voters who will absolutely love seeing this).

shows how life is different for people....i love it thought good job!

finally some boobs, i thought this challenge will end without anyof them.
As a composition and relation to subject its well done.

two girls kissing doesnt get my vote. i think i have seen enough boobs and female sex to last a lifetime. Its a shame people rely on this for points in theyre photography, how about EARNING some points for creativity and purely good photography.
12/29/2005 12:14:41 PM
I think there's a fair chance this is fotoman. The model in the black looks faintly like the model in his last photo. I'm guessing this one is going to give a run for the brown. Nudity doesn't always fly on this site and I haven't yet seen a lesbian shot. To put that all aside for a second, I'm not sure about the photo in general. I don't know if a "domino sugar cube ad" is supposed to invoke something for me to compare or not. If it is, it's too esoteric for me. The picture has only average lighting and composition. I'm afraid I'm not going to help keep you from the brown...2

I have not seen that ad, and hence can't comment. But liked the set-up, and concept! 8.

Guess this one is over my head.
I see the box on the counter, but have NO idea what it has to do with the scene here, nor what any of this about.
Clean image with good lighting though.

I would not have a clue why this was an Oops without the title. I am not sure why they would be at the refrigerator if they were making an ad about sugar.
12/28/2005 07:24:47 PM
LOL... First one I see in this challenge, whatta way to start...
12/28/2005 02:00:59 PM
Very distasteful image...I guess it would help if I knew what you were talking about but I don't. So I am going to give you a score that you may or may not like, but I just have to do it! You are brave, but lets not be so yucky next time alright?!?!?!??! 10 to even out the crappy voters out there!

I'm not sure i understand the photograph.
12/28/2005 12:26:50 PM
Not quite sure of the relevance. Hmmmmmmm

It would be sensuous in a studio setting with great lighting and a black background, but then I guess "oops" wouldn't apply. OH well.... kind of snap shottish as it is.
12/28/2005 11:54:10 AM
haha, you're brave ;)

12/28/2005 11:30:23 AM
Damn, getting brave here. OK, I'm gonna give ya a ten ... wish ya the best of luck, I have a feeling you'll be looking at a lot of 1's from the prudes around here.
