I blew bubbles and let them fall into the frozen grass. They froze and I took their picture. Processed the raw file with CS2 and sharpened it.

Amazing image and deserving of score well above that 5.9999 barrier. My first reaction on reading your description is -- hey, I want to do that too! Will need to hold that thought until winter months.

Wow! That is too cool...I'm going to have to try that! Does it have to be really cold outside for it to freeze? Beautiful, just absolutely beautiful.

** Greetings from the Critique Club **

Amazing - a real frozen bubble! I think most took it for a Christmas ornament. Good creative thinking, composition, and use of shallow DOF.
The colors, exposure values, and white balance are all carried out well.
The only thing that is not working for me here is the front blade of grass in front of the bubbble - just a bit distracting. Perhaps if you had shifted the angle a little it would not have been so over-powering. Still, a very good shot.

Your photo was my top pick for this challenge. I wish others had appreciated it as much as I did, and still do - sorry I wasn't able to comment sooner. It's delicate and lovely, and thank you for sharing it!

ROBBED!

I think a lot of people were really under the impression that this was not what you said it was.

I didn't even think for a second that it was an actual bubble. Knowing that you actually did take a bubble, I'd say this is pretty damned amazing.

Oh well. There's always the favorites list...

I had no idea this was a real bubble. I thought it was a christmas ornament placed in the grass. I only gave 6. Now I know I would give a 10. I wonder though, was there any way that you could have conveyed that it was a real bubble in the shot?

8 - Wow, if this is (and I'll be back PC to see), amazing capture. Very nice colors and light 'use'. Criticism; difficult, depending on what that 'bubble' is, and the detail on it is very good, but perhaps incorporating that fore 'iced strand', may have also added an extra element here, but of course depends on the distance from the 'bubble'. The blue/abstract/object/something middle left in the background slightly detracts from the overall feel, but minor. No idea how, but some type of 'tweaking' of the colors, the whites (obvious contrast issues), and the barely discernable 'greens', may have also made this better - but likely very difficult. An interesting shot. Up to 8 from 7, mainly for the 'unique factor'.

This is amazing! Did you blow the bubble or did you just happen on it?
It's really beautiful.
