I love the colors in this shot. The orange lines att he top look like painted strokes or an orange star-shaped flower to me. Great job!!!!!!!

Very well done. This may be the winner this week, in my opinion. Excellent capture of a very difficult subject, and I like the way the city sprawls in the background. It's almost cropped too tight on the right, but not enough to detract from the score. 10.

Cool shot, but it appears to be crooked. Since I don't know the area where this was shot, perhaps it really does lie at the slight angle I see in the shot. However, without that knowledge, I'd say this needs to be rotated a few degrees clockwise. This would also make it look as if the fireworks were going straight up into the air before bursting.

beautiful and well captured

Your exposure on this really makes the shot. The lines and patterns are really exceptional.

Love it! Fireworks shots are hard, too.
06/28/2002 10:07:00 PM
Nice!

Very nice work! I would love to have done fireworks myself but there were none happening in my city during the challenge week. You are lucky to have been able to capture this shot :) Good work! This is one of my favorites this week = 10 - jmsetzler

Very well done. I don't think I've seen many fireworks photos that were better than that :)

Great fireworks shot. Although fireworks aren't stricken to just the city, and they seem to be the subject. Good shot, so-so interpretation.

Great fireworks shot! If you really took this photo during the week of the challenge, great job! What celebration was this? Too early for 4th of July.
06/25/2002 11:04:00 PM
Wow! Aren't you just awesome! Were you on top of a building for this? Great shot all around!
06/25/2002 09:16:00 PM
Good fireworks shot. Nicely timed.

Incredible photo! I can't wait for the Fourth. 9 (dock one because IMO it doesn't portray city life). **Brumos in BC? I assume most people on this site are from the U.S. and associate fireworks with a national holiday (4th of July and Chinese New Year). It may have helped with the dating questions and inferred lack of association with city life had your title had been a bit more explanitory.** Hindsight's 20-20. You'll have to forgive those of us Americans who are unworldly...we're 'educated' to be so (embarassing, but true). Your submission deserves to do well regardless** If this isn't Brumos, please ignore my **message** ; D

Very nice shot. At what speed and aperture did you set your camera? Did you place the camera on the tripod?
06/24/2002 04:09:00 PM
Yea.. now that's a fireworks shot. The tilt has me confused though.
06/24/2002 04:03:00 PM
excelent shot, i bet you ended up with a bunch great out takes
06/24/2002 03:59:00 PM
Wow, great angle for this shot. Were in some kind of tall building? Very steady, how many seconds? This is just great. I like incorporating the launch site, but out of curiousity, did you try a landscape shot above the city line (just fireworks)? Photo 10 City 9 total 10
06/24/2002 03:08:00 PM

I love what you captured but I would have cropped out the bottom.
06/24/2002 10:04:00 AM
And it's not even 4th of July yet. Nice fireworks shot! Love the projection of the fireworks from the source.
06/24/2002 09:50:00 AM
Beautiful !
06/24/2002 09:33:00 AM
I've always had problems shooting fireworks and can't wait to see the technicals on this shot. Horizon is a bit sloped. At first I was going to say it missed topic a bit, but decided 'city life' is an open question with many interputations. Nice shot!
06/24/2002 04:12:00 AM
