I've had this flower idea for a while and decided this challenge was a good time to try it.

Wish I was better at lighting and editing and able to fix the shadows and glares a bit more, wish I had straightened the stem near the top a bit more and maybe left a petal that was a little lower, perhaps a nicer vace or no vace,...etc...etc...etc...I could go on and on. I'm not ecstatic how this turned out - BUT, I really feel my editing is getting better :)

All auto settings on camera and natural light.

Editing:
in ACDSee: Rotate, crop, gamma, whitepoint, blackpoint, sharpen, hue -1
in PSP7: edge corrector, sharpen, re-size, and border.

I really like this. Don't know how many times I've done that to some poor flower. Great work! Cheers....Martin

I was drawn into your page by the red ribbon for "Oops!" In both that photo and this you achieve an elegant look from a very simple set-up - well done! In this case the composition really makes the picture (color, light and focus are all good too!) Good eye - I needed add this to my favorites!

LOL - been there. Love the idea. Good lighting, great use of color AND lack there of, makes the point hit that much more.

Certainly an odd number. I like this, but am curious as to what it would look like with a brighter, more purely white background.

A bit over exposed, however a quite good idea.

6 - Good concept. Criticism; a sharper angle/perspective, possibly even including more fore (even if they were out of focus), while retaining the focus on that one petal left, would have made this better in my opinion. Not sure on the frame.

Good studio shot, I especially like how you got the flower set up so straight. It shows a lot of thought and skill.

Great job! I can clearly tell what is "odd" about this shot, its well composed, well lit, and focused.
