Almost straight from RAW. Contrast masking, hue/sat. Flipped image vertically.

Title from a poem by Annie Finch:

"Landing Under Water, I See Roots"

All the things we hide in water
hoping we won't see them go-
(forests growing under water
press against the ones we know)-

and they might have gone on growing
and they might now breathe above
everything I speak of sowing
(everything I try to love).

**********

The image is vertically flipped; the reflection is impossible. I'm really surprised at the humber of comments indicating this dmtc. "Deception is the name of the game. Show someone or something that clearly isn't playing by the rules." I'd have thought this was an easy challenge-meeter, if not one destined to score high. But 3 favorites and a wish list is a high number for me, so thanks all :-)

Lovely, Bear! And look, someone used the phrase "intensive purposes"!
(Sorry, I didn't get to vote in this challenge, what with moving and all.

Wow, talk about underrated. :-( This was one of my favorites in the challenge.

I agree about this image being underrated Robert. Sheesh! For all intensive purposes, I gave this a 7. It's very Monet-like and deems a bit more attention and respect from the voters. The colors and tonalities are exemplary in this subject. The cat tail posts you did kinda gave it away :P

This is perhaps the most moving and interesting image of this challenge. I abandoned a close idea such as this for fear that the voters often dismiss the riddles. I love this image because it lends a movement of paint like strokes. Be proud. The coloration and beauty wins the day.

I don't see the challenge relevance here either, bear, but would've scored it higher than any pictures of aces. ;-) Congrats on the favs (including mine). A great image.

My favorite part is the water refelctions of the sky. I'm a bit confused how it falls into this category, but that's just me.

"Landing underwater, I see roots..." Lovely image, colors, composition and gradiant from grass to sky. I'm afraid this may be lost on those cheated by lack of poetry in their lives. Good luck on this hidden gem.

Pretty image, but I don't see where the theme comes in. I'll come back to it later and see if it comes to me.
