I forgot to mention about the border. I didn't even realize it was un-even at the bottom until the challenge started. I pretty much submitted it at the last minute because I couldn't make up my mind on what picture I wanted to use. Next time I know to double check, or just leave it out =)

Wow. Thanks all so much for the comments & votes. I really appreciate it :) I can't believe I got a ribbon for only my 2nd submission.

I didn't think I would crack the top 10 with all these wonderful pictures that were submitted.

I wasn't sure if I was going to submit this photo or another one. I'm glad I used this one.

I accidently broke the mirror a couple weeks ago, and was just playing around taking pictures with it, because I gave up hope of all the other portraits I tried. lol. I haven't had any bad luck, yet. *knock on wood* hehe... ;)

So Thank you all once again. Now I'm off to see all the other portraits and match your names with a face :)

I like the DOF which puts the broken mirror out of focus, nice photo.

Great creativity. I love the sepia & softness. Nice use of DOF to distinquish focal point. Pretty as well.

Sorry that the frame is not well centered.

It's soft, and alluring. I like the crack in the mirror over your face - I feel like it tells me more about you.

This was really one of the most creative portraits I've seen. Very well executed and attractive. Nice work.

I really like the focussing here because your face is sharp while the edges of the mirror just blur away. I also like the sparkle in your eyes - I think it actually adds a lot to the overall effect of the photo. good job, I scored this pretty high.

A beautiful picture, this one really appeals to me. The sepia toning is very effective, and adds to the wistful expression in the eyes. I'm sure the crack running across the face has some kind of deep psychological symbolism here, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Perhaps like a kind of heartbreak or loss. Shame about the distracting background in the mirror. The white background works very well. It's also a shame that the border is not an even width at the bottom. 9

I like the way you've captured the face here. The skin tones are wonderful and I really like how those eyes look. The only thing I'd question here is how the mirror crack lines up.. something just seems off about it, how it follows the bridge of the nose so perfectly and then veers off the face.. I think I'd like if it either continued on down through the mouth or if it didn't follow the nose so closely in the first place. That is getting pretty picky though. I really like the capture here. Good work. 8

I like the framing and composition -- don't think the mirror being broken adds anything to the photo, though, in my opinion!

Very nice picture. I like the use of the mirror, and the sepia tones. I don't like the odd stuff in the background. It's a bit distracting. DId you try hanging something up to cover it?

I think a portrait should reveal some character, or emotion of the model, by showing expression in eyes or other facial features. Did your picture accomplish that? Oh yes!

Lighting:good

Exposure:good

Focus:nice soft focus

Creativity:good

Composition:good

Background:good
Overall good job! Best of luck!

Excellent picture. I especially like how the mirror looks. This is totally minor and personal, but I think it'd be nice if the crack in the mirror was actually Y shaped, branching off through your right eye. Very nicely done.

Not sure about your frame - I think it looks a bit daft, to be honest. Very nice looking model though, and well framed. I would probably have considered doing something about the background, however. (7)

Does this relate to your life in some way? I ask because the expression on your face makes it seem so. Nice shot. Good pose.

I like this - the composition, and the color render this as an abstract piece of work. Your capture of detail in the mirror is very good. Well done.
