 There are some incredibly huge spiders of all colors in my back yard. They make equally huge webs that I have been spraying with water and shooting from many angles. I think they are getting used to me and have stopped balling up when I spray them. Being a nurse and "tomboy" makes me more facinated than squeemish about being 2 inches from them while shooting.

Great angle.
Ha! yes I love working close up on insects too. Was very easy to do with my A80 and close up filters - tougher with the Canon 350 and macro lens - hoping to save for accessories that allow me to get up real close again.Good luck and have fun. Congratulations on your top 5 finish.

Very well done. Pinsharp where it should be and the light on the underside is just dazzling. But the photo is too frozen for my taste to convey the sense of "busy".

8 - Oh, good shot, good coloring. Nice macro(?). Good 'catch' for the Challenge. Really like the way you captured the 'leg work' here. Criticism; more detail somehow (tighter crop perhaps, but then you lose the perspective) on those legs 'working', may have made this even better in my opinion. Like the composition - with the 'diagonal' using the web and 'whiteness', etc.

Very nice shot! I like the water on the cobwebs. I think IMHO there is just a bit too much of the web in the foreground. Maybe try and crop it a bit closer to the spider. My two cents ;o)

i would suggest a deeper depth of field... to where you could see the detail of the web just a bit more... but the detail of the spider itself is indredible. and the color too. nice work.
