Challenge: Shutter Speed (Basic Editing IV)
Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S5100
Location: My living room, Woodside, CA
Date: Oct 30, 2005
Aperture: F2.8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 2 seconds
Galleries: Black and White, Science and Technology
Date Uploaded: Oct 30, 2005

In the spirit of the 'Halloween Season', I wanted to capture a 'ghost'. I had never tried this effect before but I had great fun setting up this photo.

I chose a black and white image in an attempt to recreate the atmosphere of the old horror movies.

Many thanks to my fantastic husband, who ran in and out of shot in the 'monster' costume while I kept saying "just once more"!

My apology for saying "I dont see any relation to the shutter speed challenge in this photo." When I commented on it i was viewing it at work. Turns out the monitor at my work is not calibrated propely so you cant see through the ghost. Sorry:(

Cute! Perhaps, even more transparent little fella would have been better, and definitively a tighter crop. The alarm clock could be the rightmost item in the photo, and the bottom line should be where the scarf ends.

i think the real motion shot would happen if she saw what was behind her! ;)

I understand how shutter speed created this effect, but I don't think it demonstrates the motion aspect of the challenge.

Wonderfully done - would be a TOUCH better IMO if the photo had been taken from the other side and we could read the name of the book she is reading, and it had been "Silence of the Lambs" or a Steven King, etc. otherwise verly well done!!!!
