Thanks for the comments all. I'm a surveyor by trade so that's where the inspiration came from. I also took a page out of Jacko's book and used a printed page as the background/foreground; the target/concentric circles were drawn in AutoCad and printed out on my inkjet. I'm very pleased with my final score; my wife was disappointed though , she thought I should have ribbonned but then she has alterior motives - she wanted to be able to say, "See, now what do u need a Canon EOS10D for?" :)

Your image really appeals to me. I like it. Maybe it is the way my mind works, but it is wonderful. Great lighting, positioning, and drama. 9 Morgan

Lots of care has been given to this one. Amusing how it obviously meets the challenge in one way and at the same time says "dead center" and all other possible ways. I wonder how many variations and alternatives were shot of this one ?

Perfect submission for this week's challenge. I love the abstractness of the lines and the plumb is a nice solid object to come back to over and over. Well done.

Should raised it a little bit (1/4 inch) up above the paper. Very nice shot anyway, except for the border. The border is awful and takes away from the shot I think. Might have been OK with just the thin black and tan parts, but NOT the huge black outer part!

This is an excellent submission to the off-centered challenge. Probably the most fitting I have seen so far.

I really like this photo. The perspective, color, and overall idea are excellent. Only thing I would try to change is the reflection on the weight itself. You can see the line of the chart and my eyes are drawn to it. I gave it an 8 and would have giving a 9 if the reflection wasn’t there and the string was just a bit sharper. Great job though.

very creative idea, a suitable border. Watch out for that resizing method since it is creating jagged lines. That is a bad thing. Despite all that, this is one good photo.

Cool, kind of like an abstract, the lines & circles go well together...I had an idea kind of like this, but with a dartboard, went with something else, though...
Great shot...

great subject. nicely cropped and framed (borders are growing on me). nothing wrong with a photo of a Plumb-bob.

nice reflections and sharp image slight overexposure at the top of the plumb er whatever it's called an 8

Great idea. I would have preferred the plum bob being a little further down in the composition, with enough DOF to capture the whole thing in focus. I find that the top being out of focus is a little distracting. The concentric circles are somewhat hypnotic :) 7.

Great concept! Looks like it could have been focused just a teeny bit better, but I love the idea.

Nice subject, good colours. If you'd been able to get the plumb (thats what it is isn't it?) in focus too that would have been great.

Nice Job! This was My first chalenge. And lots of great entries...I have felt inclined to rate so many images with high marks. Yours is one of the best. If you dont see a ribbon you would have to be very close. You got My vote! Thanks

Cool concentric circles, this would make a nice addition to an art deco-styled room. The border is a nice touch.
