I made a pledge to myself to enter at least one challenge every week if I am not busy. Problem is...I am "all-school" this week. So, I have no other resort but to utilize a student to model for me.

I asked Pupae to put on purple eyeshadow and eyeshade and I borrowed the yellow and purple accessories from our activities coordinator. During lunchbreak, I took this shot (among 30 others) in my shortest shooting time for a challenge ever...10 minutes.

First, compositionally, it's really classic. So 'Do I like it?' Yeah, big time. I don't mind the color of the yellow on her skin, it compliments the eye shadow.

OK, I'm being picky here, but that's kinda what DP is about, right? First, is the photographer is in the picture? Check the catchlight in the eyes, especially the right, it's oblong, and the head(?) of the photog is in the middle of the light. Unconventional, but not appealing.

The loose hairs bothers me as it should have been caught before the shot was taken. This was, after all, a posed shot. So take the extra time and see with the eye instead of the 'heart'. She's beautiful, but also distracting. Don't let her be distracting. OK, so the hair is there, Photoshop it out. Just a little more time to do it.

Pipae seems to have a line going thru the corner of her right eye just by the shadow. Don't know what that's about, but try Photoshoping it out, too.

My two cents. Good shot, really good.

Beautiful shot. I knew this one would do well. I can't for the life of me understand the 1 - 4 votes. Seems very harsh to judge this image a 1 or 2.

Man Librodo, next time I go to Thailand, I want to meet YOU! Actually, I want to meet Pupae, but it would be cool to see a little of what you see too.

I wonder, why is her name in plural? I give out lots of English names to my students as well. I am wondering if perhaps it is based on her Thai name?

You are seriously amazing. Not to mention that you got this at 1/15th. Oy!

Beautiful portrait shot. Pretty much flawless picture and great use of the colors. If there were anything in my wishing well, it would have been to see a bit more of the purple eye shadow.

Having a hard time voting on this one. Are the colours complementary? Yes they are. Are they the focal point of the photograph? Nope. Would this be a poorer picture without the yellow and purple? Probably not. So ... still undecided.

Good portrait by the way.

Beautiful representation of complementary purple and yellow. I like the way you use your colors to frame the image. The subjects purple eye-shadow and yellow skin tones add more impact.

nice idea you were going for here but i would have cropped more on the right side to get her arm out of the photo. her hair is also caught up in the hairbanders on the right and the yellow of the models skin is not very pleasing to look at even tho she is a very pretty model. good composition and focus on the model. good luck :o)
