 This was actually a lucky shot. I had the whole set up done and I was using natural light but I forgot to turn the flash off. When I was browsing through all the photos I had taken I saw this one and couldn't believe my luck. My Macaw was actually a good sport about all the photos until I tried to get him to lay on his back (which he will normally do). I think the bottle and everything scared him so I have a nice bite mark on my hand now. :)

This is potentially a great shot and its just a couple of small (but important) things that lety it down. The composition would improe by re-framing/cropping with the lei almost on the right hand edge which would give it a 'thirds' feel. The second thing I'm sure bugged you as well, the bottle being tilted.
