(I'm making an attempt to explain why I give any photo 3 or less. Obviously I won't like these photos, but DPC is a place to learn a) about what works in this environment and b) about what other individuals think. Please don't be despondant just because I don't like your shot. Rather than that, if your entry scored low, please try and understand one commentor's reasons.)
This is a touch boring for me as a subject. Yes, you meet the challenge, but there's nothing special about the subject, nor have you tried to make the subject into something special. The lack of focus in the bottom part doesn't have a reason. Often the out of focus part leads our eye to the main subject, but this one is all very much the same. Indeed, my eye is taken to the top of a pipe and left there, hanging. The sky colour isn't very vivid. The wood is done very nicely. I can see an attempt to make the strong lines interesting, but overall, I'm not really drawn to this photo. |
