Thanks to all for the comments and votes, I really expected to get hammered for the processing...pleasantly surprised that most people liked it. (Although it did gather the greatest number of 1 votes that I`ve had on any submission for some time (4))..So if your reading this Jason, don`t be so keen to capture the "Geewhy feeling", it`s not universally loved by any means, and your style stands up perfectly well on it`s own :)

ah ah, i was right. i would love to know the secret to getting this "geewhy" feeling. superb work as usual.

Good contrast. I'm usually not a fan of grain in photos, but it works in this one. Nice job. Hope it does well. Bumping up after second look.

This is so well done! I can imagine it up on a wall. The contrasting is done softly and almost subtly...very nice.

Ouch... This is such a good picture and its such a pitty to see it so small!
I think this one is gonna go far but if it would have bin 640*480 i think it could have had a ribbon!!! Hopefully are the voters gonna go easy on you because that picture is from an eye of a artist.... Good luck...9

This looks like a charcoal drawing wow. Its a tad over processed to look like a photo although Im sure it is. I love everything about it, execpt that its just too dreamlike and the leaves and stuff look drawn. Still a good high contrast photo.

Fantastic composition. This is my favourite I've seen yet. I don't usually go much on B&W or borders but they both probably add to this shot. I really like this shot.

this image has a ton of feeling to it. i generally like heavy processing, but you have such an astounding image to work with i wish you didn't go as heavy as you did. it feels so much like a drawing it loses it's realness that was it's strongest suit. well that and a fantastic composition. anyway you look at it, it's still great work. i'm very curious to see how it is received.

This looks like a picture you'd see in a book, maybe a story about a child. I like this. Good job.

Wonderful composition. Sometimes it's right to have the focal point in the center and this is an example of that. Love the dark/light contrast from side to side. Lovely image.

It is nice how all the lines lead to the centre. This way the centered composition doesn't suffer so much from being centered. The balance between the dark forest on the right and the fields at the left and in the centre is interesting but also to extreme, because of the blown out highlights. Therefore I think it might have worked better if you had cropped of a part of the left, precisely there where the bushes take over the fence. You'd loose the annoying bright spot at the left.
Wonderful tone and mood. 8

One of my favorites so far. This is misty, dream-like. Very soothing to view, especially after a long line of relatively harsh entries. The soft grass leads so nicely to the couple (man and his son?) in the center.

I love the effect here. Works well with this shot. Great leading lines with the fence and trees that lend your eye straight to the strollers. I even like the crop ratio. Good job! 10

I like this photo a lot. The composition is beautiful, the people in the middle works well here! The soft feel and graininess really add to the emotion perceived in the photo. Well done. It's not the highest contrast in the challenge but works well (too many contrasting areas that compete with each other...)

I love the nostalgic sense of this shot. It seems like a foreign land to me as an American. I love it. The trees diping up and over create almost a perfect frame to the man and the boy.
