It was funny trying to get close enough to these two to get their picture. As soon as I got close on one side they would move, in tandem, to the opposite side. Finally, I had to switch over to shoot using the LCD (I always use the viewfinder). By putting my hand to one side I could get them to move towards the camera side, which I was handholding. Not bad for one-handed at 1/30 eh? ;^)

**Greetings from the Critique Club!**

Let me just say that any one handed shot while trying to herd a couple of grasshoppers deserves a high vote alone! :) Aside from that, this image is great! It is clear, sharp, the colors and contrast are great, and you have an interesting subject. Your focus and DOF is spot-on, drawing the eye to your subject without it wanting to wander elsewhere.

Aside from that, your humor displayed in the title is an added bonus. By the photo alone, this really isn't what I would have thought about, but it makes me take a second look and chuckle. Overall, you have a great photo here, technically and aesthetically. Keep up the good work!

Was just revisiting this great shot, and wondering why hadn't scored it higher. I gave it a "7" which in my book is a high score, but in hindsight I think I should of scored it higher. Very sharp image with great tones. Must of been the other monitor I saw it on...yeah, that's it:) Anyways, sorry and keep up the good work.

On second thoughts, I don't think I care. What would I say? WOW nice DOF! You have the texture of their bodies down so well, I can feel the smoothness just by looking at them. The colours rock too.

Never thought I'd see the day when two cicadias (or are they grasshoppers) would be making it on a branch but here it is. Great detail on the shell of the bugs. Would have liked it more contrasty and brighther, but a really nice image.
