Very nicely done. this is a really good picture on the verge of being a great one. the toning and cropping are excellent. not sure if you placed the boots or if you just found them that way, but it's very natural looking.

the use of directional sunlight also subtly speaks to the context as you infer it in your title. end of the day...fading sunlight etc. very nice.

on the more critical side, there are some blown out highlights as a few of the commenters noted. hard to say if it's this that causes the pixelation in the laces or if that's a product of some sharpening.

I like the harsh processing - lots of contrast and texture, but i suspect a *little* softer processing would have garnered you a higher score.

All said, it's a very good image, certainly deserving of the 6 it received. Well done.

Nice lighting. I like the tones. texture was good. Digitally added contrast made right shoe a little too bright.

boots are off, end of a long day... the title gives the image a good context.

Sidelighting is a little harsh on the shoe causing blown out highlights. Otherwise a very good image. Good background and tonal range

Great setting and contrast. Maybe a little too much sharpen ... a few spots a little blown out. Good job.

I like how the picture is very old looking and how the shoes looks so worn out. I also like the coloring.

The lighting is kind of blinding, but I loveh ow you can see alot of details everywhere. The colors are nice, and I think it's very well done.

Ouch the sharpness hurts eyes. Other than that, interesting lighting and placement, color tone, etc.

Nice use of light and shadow. I like the tousled look of the laces. Good perspective - from the shoes' point of view.
