i am also curious how much of a crop this is - or if you were very close to the subject.

Congrats on your 2nd place finish matey, well deserved in my opinion.

I gave this a 10 as I know how tough the shot must have been to get this perfect. I am curious, how many shots did it take to get this one image?

Well done!

Yep, its real but from a farmers market - really fresh. Also two tubs of single cream slightly watered down as the cream itself is too thick. Washed the strawberry between each shot to clean it. I ended up taking about 50shots to get this one.

Thanks so much to everyone who voted for it and also to the great comments for it. I'll be walking around with a smile on my face for a week now!! Thanks again.

One of the best splash shot. Good control of lighting for soft shadow, excellent. Good composition too. Looks to me you used milk; may have worked better with creme though.

There are a lot of shots like these, but this one is by far the most appealing simply by its gentleness and ease on the eyes. It's a great shot, especially how the strawberry is plunging straight down and creating an odd indenture into the milk. Great job. 7

Absolutely stunning shot! I really like this! There's some pictures that you see and you immediately like, this is most definately one of them!

Your lighting is perfect, the tones in the cream/milk isbrilliant. It has such a smooth feel to it, just what you think of when having strawberry's and cream!!

The positioning of the strawberry is spot on too, perfect! Definately full marks here!!

A simple looking shot to the eye, there's little to look at, but again so much! You see the strawberry, then keep looking at the splash, the droplets, the shadow, the slight reflection, I could go on...

Very well done, a well deserved 10. (And most probably a nice blue ribbon too)

The execution of the splash is near perfect. I've seen this done many times before (and many time in this contest) and this happens to be quite good. My only problem is the coloring of the milk or cream.

Excellent capture. It seems a few people had this same idea with the strawberry, but I think this is the best one. The milk is a good color with none of the annoying color casts. Great focus and lighting.

Yes! I am currenlty evaluating all the "milk splash" pictures at once. This one is excellent. Good capture of the slpash, the object is in focus, and the image doesn't have blowout in the important detail areas. 9.

this is a great idea when gotten right...u did a fine job of it but i think it would be nice to have the entire area that draws your attention, in focus.....as it is right now the milk walls of the splash r in focus but the stem of the berry is inot and the top of the berry is alittle blurry itself....good luck i think the apiture needs to but uped just a bit
