| Gordon, thanks for the comment... I added the water to this.. it was done inside on my livingroom floor... I placed the leaf (back side up) on a drinking glass about 6" above the floor on top of a black shirt... I provided the light with a 500w halogen lamp and left a dark shadow underneat the leaf so I could easily make the background completely black. The color version of this photo has had the levels adjusted back to as close to the original color as possible... |

| I'm guessing this one will win. I love the structures emphasized by the b&w, I love the lighting, and I love the crispness. I would really like to see it in color, but I'm guessing I like it better in b&w (which is really saying something, considering I don't generally like b&w at all). |

| Wonderful! The leaf structure comes up beautifully, and the drops of water magnify parts of it just to drive the point home of its fractal complexity, and then tease you with their spherical simplicity. Nature is... well... read Wordsworth to see how I feel about this photo :) 10! |

| this is easily one of my 5 top shots. the lighting, the detail, and the refraction of the water droplets, elevate this pic head and shoulders above the majority. the tip of the leaf where it curls is slightly oof, but that doesnt detract too much for me. a 9. |
