Her expression looks strong despite her delicate wrap. For me this shows a great balance of the appeal of woman - power and femininity combined.

I pray that you find yourself stronger for having to go through this experience. You will be in my prayers.

So, should a picture of an ugly half wilted flower get as many points for a beautiful flower in the same compsition and setting? C'mon. I think your statement was uncalled for.

I don't mean to be inflammatory, but I think you really need to think about what it is photographers generally try to do. Is this a perfect photo? No. Does it deserve a 10? Maybe, maybe not. By and large, photographers try to create beautiful art, and that entails finding beauty in the subject. This doesn't necessarily mean the subject itself will always appear as beautiful as the photograph, but you also can't expect someone to find a photo (no matter how perfectly composed it is) beautiful if they are not drawn to the subject.

lol

Kidding, right? I just wonder how many people would have given Heida's Angel a 10 if it was me with my arms on the rocks standing there. Good looking models add to the beauty of a picture. If it was a 300 pound model it would have gotten humor points for me, but the PULL of the photo would have been different. I tend to vote on emotion and impact the photo makes on me - this one pulls me. A 300 pound guy in the same pose would not do the same.

lol, u make a good point. it is very sad. i however don't look at photography that way. an art teacher (drawing I in college) of mine told me that she even prefered to draw large people because they have much more to work with...oh well....just my .02.

Maybe if you want to push your creative buttons as an exercise perhaps but that'll just be a tune up for when you shoot a more attractive model because that's what will get the accolades as this contest further illustrates.

thank you for all of the comments, compliments and words of concern. I never expected this shot to do so well. :) Unfortunately, I dont really get to appreciate having a ribbon right now. My world has been reduced to the reality of homelessness and wondering where i might hang out in the process of rebuilding.

Terrific effect. The mouvement of the model, under the fabric used is simply stunning. Control of the lighting is also very appealing, giving this picture lots warmth, making this picture into a romantic sexual fantasy. The composition is very inviting and at the same time, lets the mind wander. two things that i'd wish would be different: The small spot of the model's right arm seems completly out of place and the sort of smothered black spot on the model's stomach (probably due to a fabric malfunction) takes away from the whole body. Aside from that, this is my Blue Ribon pic. I hope this wins, it is absolutly stunning. Amazing work! (i'd really love a little tutorial as to how it was done!!)

Very cool effects here. Unfortunately in this case I think the prominence of the nipple really detracts from the overall look of the picture. It's too much of a focal point given that it's centered in the photo and is so dark. Other than that, I like it.

One of my two tens in this challenge. What can I say, it is pretty much a perfect photo. I love the Rembrand colors/toning and shadows vs light. The use of the fabric with prints over your model adds a certain mistique ambiance. The expression on her face is also something you normally see in paintings. The face draws me in more than the nudity.

Please take it at as a compliment when I say "looks like a Julia Bailey photograph", because either you are Julia or you are just as good.

What an artistic and striking image. I love the way the thin material looks like an image projected on to her body and almost creates an illusion of double explsure. Expression on her face and simple, tilted composition both work well as does the highly orange colour cast.

This image has a wonderful almost abstract quality. At first I thought it was just artsy printing/manipulation, then I look closer and saw that a vail of some type was used. The exposure and processing perfectly compliment the concept.

The one and only Julia Bailey I presume.

If I'm wrong, then take that to mean you're pretty good. The sheet really does seem to merge with the body in places - thus, the title fits perfectly. As for the image itself I'm sure you already know it's very good.

my inital impression was that the model had been henna'd very soon replaced by material thoughts. Well choose prop, it really complimnts the model and gives the image an extra oomph.

Well I think I've been through most of the entries already, so I'll go out on a limb (pardon the pun) and predict a ribbon for this magnificent shot. Absolutely artistic and creative.

Beautiful. I love the lacy overlay and the subtlety it creates. The tones are soft and warm. Nice!
