This tractor was sighted along Hwy 202 between Redmond and Woodinville. Because there is a chain-link fence behind it and to the left, and a highway to the right, my cropping options were very limited. I am very plesed with the this composition as it seems to capture the essence of this historical piece of equipment.

The one aspect that seriously detracts from it is the blotch on the radiator. I hope to get back there again and see what it should look like. I think it is just bent up a little, but the camera was unable to capture the detail? Perhaps this is a moire pattern. Anyone know what would cause this and how one might fix it?

A little too much depth of field for my liking. It's a good subject, but I would have liked to have pulled it out from it's surroundings a little.

Great old tractor, and I love the bits of white foliage - looks almost IR. Most of the tractor comes out kind of middle gray, though. Did you look at the individual color channels to see if there was one that offered better contrast? You could probably adjust the gamma down a little and see if that helped to add density to the tractor and darken the bg a little. Nothing to be done about it, but there seems to be some moire in the radiator grille that gives an odd sense of motion. Well seen.

Subject works perfect for black and white. Nicely framed too.

Extra cool tractor. I can't help being curious about the very busy radiator, and can't figure wha makes it look like it does. I realize you probably had no choice, but it does distract from an otherwise nice shot.

the radiatior is slightly out of focus tends to be distracting

Whats going on with the front grill? Is it vibrating, or is it a moire pattern?

Very nicely done. Great detail. I would have liked a more blurred background (maybe a more open aperture?) but I realize this limitation with digital cameras

Great rust... it's a bit of a confusing photo though. I think a closeup on some features of the tractor rather than the whole thing would have been less busy and have more impact.

Nice shot. I bet that it would look good in color as well.

good mood shot, nice quality

Nice subject for a b&w. The shrub in the background is a little bit distracting to me.

Great 'old' feel in the black and white context. what lookes like rust on the engine area really stands out well.

That bright bush muddles part of the tractor a bit, but overall a nice shot. I like the sunlight (?) on the grill.

I liked this one a lot--but what ever is going on at the radiator core is very distracting.

Nice and crisp but a little too tightly cropped.

Nice shot, the only thing is the grill area seems blurred and it is distracting.
06/04/2002 02:50:00 PM
CooL! but why's the grill blurry?
06/04/2002 11:09:00 AM
I want to buy this tractor. This is my favorite but some other cat might beat ya.
06/04/2002 10:07:00 AM
i liked it except the front of the tractor looks blurry. Or is it just my eyes....
06/04/2002 12:24:00 AM
I like this picture very much but the grill looks somewhat blurred ?

This is a neat photo! As I look at this, i wonder how many different angles and approaches to a photo would be available with this subject? Did you try quite a few different perspectives on this tractor? If so, I would love to see a few of them.. good job!
06/03/2002 04:31:00 PM
Would have given it an 8(its a lovely picture), were it not for the blur on the radiator grill.
06/03/2002 04:04:00 PM
Well done. Good composition, good tone, good shot!!!

The front of that vehicle (the screen looking part) gives the appearance that its out of focus. Otherwise a nice photo.
