Title from an old Paul Simon song. Close-up of my neighbor's flowers being sprinkled.

I like the vertical blooms paralleling the lines of the water and overall "impressionistic" look this yielded. Almost straight out of the camera.

By Paul Simon:
Flowers Never Bend With The Rainfall

Through the corridors of sleep
Past shadows dark and deep
My mind dances and leaps in confusion
I don't know what is real
I can't touch what I feel
And I hide behind the shield of my illusion

So ... I'll continue to continue to pretend
My life will never end
And flowers never bend with the rainfall

Hmmm...I like it, bold color contrasts are the strong point. Abstracts are tough for mass appeal, perhaps if there was some sort of interesting pattern to ease the eyes. I think the eyes just tire out searching for something.

Its either too soft or too focused.
My eye tries to bring things into focus, which makes it hard to look at.
It may be the result of your lens bokeh.

It saddens me to think that this was so easily dismissed by some. This is a great impression of the interaction between light and rain. Don't be disheartened!

Well, I was one of your three 8's. Talk about an underrated photo. When a nice piece of art like this finishes at 3.8 it makes me want to run screaming in the streets. Keep the great stuff coming!

this should never have finished so low.
OK, it's not a top tenner, but it looks as though it is raining, which is more that can be said for some of the shots.
And it's clearly not a snap shot, unlike some of the others.

Thanks, that's about my third near-miss in recent weeks. I wonder what the record is for consecutive bottom-three finishes ... : )

No flash, no glass -- just OOF shot of flowers being watered, with bright overhead sunlight.

Good Abstract, flowers? Certainly gives an overall quality of rain, almost looks like a Monet painting

Thanks, that was the effect I saw in this too -- I've never really done it before without using a filter, but this one is basically straight out of the camera. With this particular subject, I liked the OOF effect.

unfortunately, nothing seems to be in focus. it's hard to think that the purple objects are flowers as the focus doesn't do them justice. 5

Would it surprise you if I said that nothing is in focus? Didn't think so. :(

The image needs some part in better forcus to figure out what it is and the story it is telling.

I like the colors, but the image is too blurred for me to really make much sense of it. From an abstract perspective, the balance is appealing, but I'm not sure it has the pop it needs to stand alone in this manner.
