There you go--a woody shot that did well! And so well done.

And now we're all looking at your profile... ;)

This shot is so creative! I gave it an 8 during voting, but didn't have time to comment. Your nice comments inspired me to check out your portfolio again.

To me, everything about this shot is good; the lighting, composition, action, everything. Great job.

Thought you had top 10 with this one, but still a great finish with a great photograph! Exceptional job.

LOL.... That's what my ol' lady says first thing in the morning! :-P This is one of the best 'woodie' shot's I've seen in a while. It looks a little dull though like it could use a boost in lighting (which may spoil the illusion... You hung the woodie up with string?) or levels.

woodies are often a guarantee for an original expression on the subject
like here..well done!

well composed, but focus is soft and your tonal range is pretty narrow. The image would have more punch with a blacker background and brighter highlights.

Bit to much negative space for my taste but i like the compositon and the Idea is very good.

Now this would have to be one of the best woody shots I have seen here. Great work and good illusion, bumping up.

I usually despise Woodie... this is an exception - this one is terrific! You've really thought the physical dynamics out. Perfect 10

Is the one in the centre being levitated, or is it some kind of tumbling act? I do feel that it could do with a touch of additional sharpening and perhaps a small levels adjustment to make the background a little darker.

Mr Priest I presume. I like the idea - it's a nice illusion and made me smirk, but it could be a little crisper, the white balance is perhaps too warm and the focus is perhaps not sharp enough. Finally the 'horizon' doesn't seem quite level. Phew! that's a lot of knitpicking for a shot I like. 8

Excellent composition. Nicely set up.

Lack of sharpness lets this down for me though I like the composition and simplicity.

the composition is strong, and the idea is well executed. Lets hope the amazing woodies score well..

I love this pic, I love the idea of cooperation that the composition conveys.
Kinda moving if you'll allow me to get a bit sensitive.

First Impression: I love the pose on the right woody. Except for the legs it would animate well. A deeper black point might have helped contrast and taken away some of the red cast.
Was I fooled? Pretty Close ! Lovely Idea!

This is the first "Woody" photo that I've ever given a high score to. I hate woodies. But... I really like the execution of your concept. It actually made me laugh - they look like some kind of circus act. Congrats to you for making me *like* a woody shot, you woody lover!

08/08/2005 02:20:38 PM
Nice illusion picture. Would be even more believable if the woody on the right had his "hands" under the flooting woody. Nice lighting. Suggestion....you should cover the table top with black too. Just my opinion. 7
