I love this picture! It really sets quite an eerie mood! I really like the multiple tones of brown - I feel this really makes the picture come alive!

What a keeper, almost a ribbon and a ribbon in my mind. Tonal range is lovely.

Great duotones here. I do like the implied statement here. A little bit harsh on the hot spot on the clouds towards the upper right hand corner. Too bad this was a basic challenge rule. This would be great if these hot spots were burned and dodged. Great image. I scored it a 6 at first but then I looked at the image again and realized what you were trying to convey. A 10 from me.

Nice lines which are emphasised by the greyscaling but I find the tone colour far too yellowey. Great subject choice - works well. 8

would have been better if span of sea had covered a little more..but the horizon is still visible so .....not bad.....nice indeed

excellent tones used. love the coloring in the sky. Like the details in her coat - catches your eye and gives her depth so she isn't just a black blob. 8 - good luck in the challenge!

This photo feels slightly off balance. I think I would like to have seen the subjects shifted to the right slightly, or perhaps a wider angle of view (not dramatically wider though). I can't help feeling like there is something missing in the composition here, but I can't pinpoint it for you. Sorry. But with that said, I love it and it makes it into my top five. Good luck!

the subject matter seems to conflict with the title, isn't the girl just following the adult? or is the adult leaving the girl? the green-yellow is an interesting color choice. i personally would have gone with something either a little warmer, or cooler, like a blue or purple.

Very nice, like the composition. However I donĀ“t really care for the pink clouds, the colour of the sand and the sea are however very nice, if that tonal range would have been consistent in the whole image (it probably is, but the clouds at least appear pink to me) I would have given this shot the highest score so far this challenge and I have voted on almost half of it. Still very good in my books.

Great photo. I like the intensity of the clouds contrasted with the smoothness of the sand and the layered waves! The angle works well also. In my mind, it might have been an even stronger photo if the child was ahead of the adult?
Well done!

Not keen on the duotone colour you used but the shot is nice otherwise. 7

Would be better if the subjects positions were reversed. This looks more like "Abandoned" ;-) Good feel to the shot though.

I love the cloud bank. Usually a photo like this works better with a single figure, but with them being so far apart, the one in the distance draws your eye to the back. The white cuff of the little one's jacket is a nice compliment to the light tones of the waves and the clouds. The use of a mustard type filter is an interesting take on it. Your perspective from ground level makes this very effective. 8

Is this abandonment? (wink, wink). Looks like mom has decided to go off on her own.
Kidding aside, I like everything about the treatment in this photo.
