I was rather lucky with this shot. I kept trying to get some kind of ghost, but it didn't work out. When I stopped trying, it worked. Maybe I should stop trying more often :)
The scene is painted with light. I want to thank my sister Carmen for waiting patiently while I was figuring out the 350D. This is my first challenge with the new camera. Many buttons.

Post Processing in PSP9:
-Curves (a rather peculiar one at that)
-Levels (6/1/159)
-HSL (Saturation -9 on red channel)
-Resize for DPC

An image that remained in my minds eye long after voting and commenting on it. Congratulations on your top Twenty finish.

Great colour, use of light and motion. Your model actually looks scared. An easy 10

I love those funny takes on the darkness. Who said darkness has to be all about sadness and pain?
Simple, works so well. I love those eyes, the somewhat shallow colors, the concept.

There is something that I am very attracted to with the way you lit the subject. Great big whites of the eyes and the clutching fingers...just great. I'm curious what that is above her head. Fantastic.

Nice choice of colors & great non-grainy picture despite the low light.

Finally a great image depicting how someone feels about the darkness. I like the movement of the hair - it adds a dynamic element to an otherwise still image.

Nicely done. Tells a dark story. Like the lighting at the top.

I like this one, but I really think it would have been better if the blur wasn't in the picture, I think it was supposed to be a ghost, but it might have been better to leave that up to the veiwers imagination of what she was seeing, but I did like it and scored well on it.

I know this is kinda silly but I really wish those palm trees weren't on the spread- takes away from the awesome look on the models face (7)

Does this fall into "basic editing"? The apparition is a nice effect anyway, even though it looks edited

Good photo, I like her expression. Seems to have a yellowish cast. Also the red thing above her head is a little distracting. Is that what she's afraid of, or is it just something in the background?

Is that her hair that is swisping red above her head? I love whatever-it-is it really makes the photo. And the monsters cant touch you where the blanket covers. Bumping up.

I love her expression and the lighting. The pattern on the bedding distracts for me, but not enough to dock points.

One of the best in this challenge. I think it would have been even more powerfull if the subject was a 8 to 10 years old. (Just my opinion) I still give this a 9

Great illusion! and excellent portrayal of a very common fear.
Only improvment I'd suggest is the forhead is a bit over exposted IMHO. 9

I like the red swirl and the big eyes looking up at something that is obviously about to do something nasty. Has a real boggy man feel about it. The only things that throws me a bit is the noticable light colour difference on the hands red on left and green the right (our point of view). Also the hair on the right over whatever that light brown is. It would have been nicer had this been dark like the other areas.
