Shooting with 400mm F/2.8 and 1.4x extender you get 560mm and I took it at F/6.3 you will get this effect :)

| Congratulations on your ribbon! However, I see something that bothers me and it's the contrast between the bird and rock against the green background. It almost appears that the bird and rock were cropped out from another photo and then pasted onto the green background. I know I'm probably incorrect in that assumption but it just has that artificial feel. Regardless, looking beyond that it is a very nice and sharp photo and well done. |

| Pretty cool bird. The composition, pov, focus, crop are dead on in this image. All your technicals are great. I would argue that the saturation is a little high but not too much - it may have been the light. For me though, the image is a little static. Can't put my finger on why. Maybe because the background is so blurred I get no sense of place. Excellent capture - 8 from me. Good luck in the challenge! |

| Nice separation of bird from background and wonderful blurred green. Love the composition and the colours and the detail. A touch dark on the bird for me but only a touch. Very nice indeed. 8 |

| So far, this is my favorite. Will not be surprised to see a ribbon from this one. The orange on the bird and the green background work well together. Even the rock is nice... just a superb all around shot. I see a ribbon in your future. |

| I love the relative "unbalanced" feel of the shot. Truly a remarkable job. Exceptional cropping and color tones - the composition is impeccable. It looks a little overprocessed (IMHO), but I'm not always very good at determining between naturally occurring abnormalities and the PP ones. I really like the image a lot. (9) |
