To me...this image was so serene..quiet...can you hear the breeze passing through? Can you feel it? It is somewhere I wish to be.

Luckily for me I can go there anytime I like...

My Mother has lovely gardens with which she shares a love/hate relationship...big gardens = big work...but when she saw this picture she felt rewarded.

This is an INFRARED picture to which I have assigned a rather "Victorian" quality...it had to look like a "film" image...grain...softness...warmth...I will most likely pay dearly for this "romantic" vision.

'tis but a fleeting moment now...fondly remembered and permanently etched upon my psyche...

I love filters like this. Clear and crisp isn't always the best way to present a shot!! This is excellent work and I love your imaginative take on it. GOOD ONE

Great image! Darkness in towards the bottom right corner is very good for the light shining through from the top/middle.

Sometimes I understand why photos do well or poorly at DPC. Frequently my tastes are very different from those of the crowd here. This is a perfect example. I really love this photo. It captures an essential tranquil quality of the woodland garden that is very rarely captured well. I believe this photo deserved to score much better; but whatever the score, thanks for sharing it. It really is quite beautiful.

Nice image, but I really don't care for the infrared treatment. It looks grainy and detracts from the natural beauty of the glen being photographed.

There are times when grain or noise adds to the mood of a photo. This isn't one of those times. Also, my eyes can't seem to find a subject to rest on. The limited color range adds to the lack of oooompfh.

Grainy affect does not work here.

beautiful shot. I like the lightplay and the use of grain.

I don't like the blown out patches on the grass...overwise nice job.

wonderful infared image. Love the noise level and the simple black frame (I love b/w in a silver frame with b/w matting personnally). Good luck on the challenge.

I like the composition of this image quite a bit. I would be curious to see it in color, because I think that would really lend a nice mood to this photo.

Beauty is a subjective thing, I know. In my scoring and comments I'm trying to score based on NOT whether or not I would think a particular subject beautiful, but on whether the photographer has succeeded in creating a beautiful photo. I look for the elements of color, lines, focus and dof interest, lighting, and a certain element of grace and lovlieness. I'm looking for a unique and creative appeal for the highest scorers. The description says to create a photo that makes the viewer think "that's beautiful", so it will undoubtedly be very subjective. (This is what I'm putting at the start of all of my comments, and I hope it is helpful.)

That being said, I've looked at this a few times trying to decide if I like the processing or not. I think I do. I'm sure others will argue that opinion. You've taken a relatively basic scene and created a nice "mood". I don't really care that much for the tone or the border. I do like the "glow" effect here. I think your title adds to this particular shot as well.

Beauty can be defined and described in many different ways. This is the only image that even approaches this soft peaceful, tranquil feeling many of us hope to experience in our own time. This is magnificently photographed and should do very, very well. <9>

Would love to see this in color. I bet the greens are amazing with the shadow and light. Love the way you used lighting/natural at that to make this shot.

This is dreamlike. Everything sorted and taken care of. Unfortunately, the lack of focus is adding to much to this dreamlike state.
