Awesome pic. I'm a big baseball fan, and this pic describes alot. I'm glad you used a worn in baseball. I've seen others that used all old baseball memorbilia except for the ball. Congrates:-)

Oh..and Congrats!! lol
05/27/2002 08:50:00 AM
I can't believe anyone gave this a 1,2,3 or anything lower than an 8. I loved this shot...

This is just excellent. Finally a still life that evokes emotion.
05/26/2002 12:24:00 AM
Lefty, huh? Nice detail.
05/26/2002 12:02:00 AM
Would like to see more. Would like you to have pulled back for a wider angle.
05/25/2002 10:03:00 AM
Nice compostion and use of sepia. I am not a big fan of baseball as a game but I love the imagery that the various elements give you to work with. You did a nice job.
05/25/2002 02:03:00 AM
Fantastic textures and wonderful light. This is what B/W is for. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. The photograph vanishing into the shadow bothers me a little, and its edge shows some jaggies from sharpening. I find that for web images, a positive gamma adjustment of 1.1 is a good idea, as shadow detail seems to get lost otherwise. Top ten.
05/24/2002 08:02:00 PM
Excellent!
05/24/2002 12:59:00 PM
this picture is wonderful--I can't find any fault!
05/24/2002 06:57:00 AM
At least honorable mention. Great photo
05/24/2002 06:45:00 AM
Excellent use of B&W. This subject is perfect.
05/23/2002 09:10:00 PM
great detail/texture on the ball. i like the inclusions of photography ... in photograph. :p
05/23/2002 04:13:00 PM
Sad, excited, feeling of age, yet youth is still playing the game.
05/23/2002 11:50:00 AM
One of two photos I appreciated being B&W.
05/23/2002 05:59:00 AM
Great idea and photo! I would have liked to see a little more of the glove and would have liked it to be a tad bit lighter. Great work.
05/22/2002 07:11:00 PM
This is great really made me feel like we were in the good ole days
05/22/2002 06:46:00 PM
i'm not a baseball fan, but this make me want to be. I really like the feel of this shot.
05/22/2002 06:12:00 PM
Thsi is the best! My favorite!
05/22/2002 07:44:00 AM
I absolutely love this.
05/22/2002 03:00:00 AM
wonderful feeling created with this image. The old photo and ball are perfect for B&W. Just a little bit too dark on the right ... would be nice to see a little detail inside the glove.
05/22/2002 12:51:00 AM
This is a very atmospheric photo with a great sense of narrative. I like it a lot.
05/21/2002 07:19:00 PM
This photo looks good enough to use as a movie poster. It looks very professional - you have done very well. Lot's ot character and good framing
05/21/2002 04:47:00 PM
love your chosen exposure - superb textured shot
05/21/2002 04:39:00 PM
this is my favorite type of picture. For some reason I like all this new technology to make everything look very old. :) I wish this was a touch brighter, but you captured the warmth of the "good old days" very well. good job.
05/21/2002 04:21:00 PM
Very nice mood, I like it. After further review and viewing the rest of the submissions, I've decided this one deserves my "10".

This pictures is really good technically, but its the wonderful mood and the title that make it great.
05/21/2002 09:35:00 AM
I dig the lighting and texture and tone and mood and everything. I'm trying to figure out if I like the photo or not. It seems out of place (why would a photo be in a mitt with a ball?), and it also seems too "new" (in relation to the status of the ball and glove). However, I do like the image it portrays. Maybe a compromise -- age the picture a little, make it look older than it is. Totally just a suggestion. Good work.

this is one of my 10's, I love the setup and the well-worn baseball is a great touch. I remember watching many a little league game in my lifetime...days gone by is a great title.

Looks like art to me! I'm thinking 9

DonĀ“t like baseball much, but now I would like to give it a try from seeing this pic.
05/20/2002 04:09:00 PM
This is one of my favorites this week.. no suggestions for improvement :) excellent work!
05/20/2002 02:43:00 PM
My favorite all time game. Good job!
05/20/2002 02:01:00 PM
A little dark, but I really like the mood and feel of this photo. Nicely done.
05/20/2002 01:53:00 PM
That's a great photo. I love the contrast between shadow and brightness of the ball. The soft leather on the bottom is also appealing along with the photograph in the glove. It all works together very well.
05/20/2002 01:45:00 PM
Great texture. This is a story in a photo.
05/20/2002 01:39:00 PM
I love this shot. Sorry the top of the glove in the upper left is there at all. It's a small thing and I can over look at. I'm sucked in by this shot and really do like it. Fine work, and great tones.
05/20/2002 01:33:00 PM
lighting work well in this great moody/nostalgic shot
05/20/2002 01:31:00 PM
Nice finish, I wish there was a bit more detail in the mitt,
05/20/2002 01:09:00 PM
Nice shot, the photo inside the glove works really well but I think it needs to be positioned more effectively, and not shadowed out by the ball.
05/20/2002 12:30:00 PM
One of my favorites .... i know you cant do it for this challenge, but add a bit of a sepia tint to it and give it a bit of an older look or show it in color and soften the color... also, wonder what it would look like showing a little more of the glove. I really like your lighting on this.
05/20/2002 11:22:00 AM
When I saw the thumbnail, I was hoping the photo was an old baseball card. Nice composition, I love the texture of the old ball.
