I attempted to create a feeling of deep in the night. To those who asked what was the focus point, it is those two people you see in the oddly lit windows. Neither could sleep and both got back out of bed, perhaps got on the computer and who knows; may have contacted each other in a chatroom, not guessing they live across the empty, sleeping street from one another. A big city has a lot of stories.

There is almost too much going on in this picture. Who is restless? Someone in one of the windows? The photographer? The city? Also, there is something that looks like a wood beam (left side - top to halfway down) that I can't identify. It's driving me nuts - thought it was a window frame at first - now I'm fixated on it.

ithis is fantastic after a pause .. nice 3 layered composition ... near windows, middle street, far greater city .. hope some others take time to appreciate and think .. this tells a humanistic story common to all .. one of the few 10's i've ever given

looks a little hazy

I like this. I like how the unidentified city lights in the background contrast with the identifiable bedroom window and street lights below.

This seems washed out, and could use a good contrast boost. Scene seems drab, though, with the exception of the colors at the lower right.

Interesting angle.

Of all the cityscapes in the challenge, this really stands out...it's not "pretty postcardy" but it says something, which in my book means so much more. As I look at the picture I start to wonder about the lighted windows, asking questions, wanting to know more...there is such a great atmosphere created within this picture...its makes us think, or it should anyway...very well done.

Would have worked well for "minimalism" too. Good story. Cropping out much of the bland left hand side would better focus attention on the story IMO.

Seems a little flat to me and no real subject.
