This is a great shot! Really like the detail you have captured. Nice use of Depth of Field. Great colours - all natural. I like the border, only suggestion would be to make the pink/purple border slightly thinner so as not to distract from the subject of your photo! One of my top 7 for the week! Keep up the great work!

how much was this sharpened in PS? It looks to be way overtly processed image, you can see the noises in the blurred area of the photograph. 3

Excellent, vibrant colours. They go well together. Very sharp middle of the flower. Good saturation. Please get rid of the matching border. jacko. 8

Nice and sharp and great choice of depth of field. Maybe could have cropped a little less tight at the top.

stunning color, great DOF. cropping is a little too close on top and i'm not really sure i would have gone with the purple frame...seems to detract from the subject. i thin black frame would have worked better, i think. beautiful photo, though! well done!

The center focus is superb, but the nearest petal being out of focus detracts from the center of the image. I would have preferred if you moved around just a weeeee little bit left and shot it a touch more straight on to make it clearer.

Pretty. The DOF works well. Crop is slightly tight at the top, though.

First, I think that this photo meets the color challenge very well. You have made good use of depth of field here and the exposure looks dead on. I like the angle at which you photographed the flower and that you picked a good specimen. The only real qualm I have with this photograph is the cropping. I think it might be more effective if the bottom of the flower was much closer to the lower right hand corner of the frame. The tight cropping at the top and the left-hand side of the picture are uncomfortable for me and I don’t think the OOF areas to the right and bottom add much to the photograph. Because the DOF is so narrow here (and I think it should be for this picture) the stalk for the flower is barely discernable and the flower almost appears to be floating in mid air. You could stop down the lens some to bring it closer to being in focus but I am afraid this might bring out distractions in the background also. Different cropping can hide the stalk and make the composition more comfortable while keeping the DOF the way it is. I gave this one a 6. Good job.

Such beauty for this time of year, I wish I had it in my backyard here in Canada. DOF is fine, lighting is great, the colour is exceptional with fine focus and really good sharpness.

excellent macro, I find the composition distracting, though I'm not sure why. I know in macros the DOF is usually left wanting. good luck in the challenge --6
