Point & Shoot Challenge/Fun/work around

Set f-stop at –2
Candle on a black cloth and background
Placed a white background behind the candle
Set the timer
Located the Focus point on the back of the candle
Depressed shutter button so camera could do it’s thing
As timer was counting down, I removed the white background, repositioned candle within frame, and turned off the light in the room.

This almost looks like a flower. It would have been interesting to see this surrounded by roses.

I know how hard it is to get everything black except an illuminate object... Good work!

Great idea and wonderful photo. Simple but quite pretty. I have "lighting" envy I think :)

I normally don't like monotone backgrounds, but this seems to work well.

Interesting, yet lacknig. Simple. I think a border maybe to help the black edge.

great detail and focus/sharpness. The negative space is maybe a little too empty for me - the candle does not quite fill it, and there is no other detail at all.
