Some of them are just not having fun. That makes the photo all the better.

Terribly unfortunate shadows on the faces, and smiles that look sooooo forced. This had the potential to be an incredible picture, but these errors may have been beyond your control. Too bad. A potentially great opportunity.

Beautiful girls! Sun was a little harsh but not that you can control that.

This is adorable - you've captured quite the array of expressions, and I love the colours. It'd be nice if this weren't cropped quite so tight, and the lighting is not quite ideal, but this is still a sharp, interesting picture. Nice job.

They really look angry. Excellent capture. The outside shot done at or near the middle of the day though - sun casts unwanted shadows on people's faces. Not much could be done with basic editing though.
Good luck!
Edit: This is an advanced editing challenge. Still like the image though.

Even aside from making the subjects squint, the harsh lighting here works against capturing a good image here. You might have been able to salvage this by placing a reflector on the ground in front of the kids, but the real solution is to avoid shooting in direct sunlight.

Look at those fierce little faces! Tons of spirit and personality, one of my favorites.

why do little girls do that with their teeth?!?! :)
I just recently had to shoot some pictures of a family member's daughter and somewhere along the line someone had taught her that to smile, she had to show her teeth like that...great colors though

They look like they're growling rather that smiling! Nice bright, colorful picture.

The lighting is way too harsh. Also, none of these girls look very happy. I don't blame them. I think maybe their hair is pulled way too tight! : ) Actually, I think the shadows are creating that illusion.

The expressions on the second and last girls faces are priceless! Great colors, too.

Awww. . . they are so cute. . . and vivid and colorful. They remind me of the little dancers we have at Fiesta San Antonio going on right now. Maybe that's partly why this one appeals to me so much -- that and it's just a neat picture! Good luck!

Nice shot. Something in the background is a little distracting, shows up as noise. Over the next year we should see more these tricentennial events and I hope to catch some of the images.

Great colors, shadows are a bit harsh though. It appears two of them are wincing and the other two look like they might be about to, I can't help but wonder what the heck they're watching, or if it's just the sun! More shots of these four beauties might have produced a stronger entry.

Nice composition and good sampling of colors. The sun light is a little bright but not bad. Good shot.
