This was taken flat on a table top. I dropped the dart from above and triggered the camera with it's remote. It took many, many attempts.

Man, I'm kind of glad I didn't see this before doing *MY* shot for Stopped Motion II.. I might have said, "eh, it's been done!" and never gotten my 6.7! :)

Beautiful, creative, and extremely well done! The lighting is perfect for setting the mood and bringing out the color of the darts. I can't imagine how you set this up, but would really like to know. How many tries did it take to get this one?

Congratulations! Even more impressive now that I know you had to catch it yourself. One thing, though - I find that if I squint hard enough the entire image disappears. {g}

awesome shot!
the only critique i coul possible suggest is that it seems a tad too far cropped on the right, a little more of the photo shown there might have been nice.

Did you use some kind of flash trigger, or is your timing just amazing? Very impressive catch. Love the specular motion blur from the fletching on the moving dart. My only nits are the highlights on the two darts in the board and on the metal bits could use some smoothing out, and it looks like the focal point was just a bit forward of where it should be. The DOF trails off right behind the bullseye. I'm guessing the oversharp highlights are a result of trying to get sharpness out of a not-quite-in-focus foreground. Top ten.

Was it a bullseye? I like this one. I hope it wins. What did it look like with a faster exposure? I like the expression of motion, just curious if you
tried to "stop" it. Kewl darts. Photo 10 Creativity 9 Games 10 total 10

Excellent! The blur on the head of the moving dart is great. If I had to criticise something then it would have been nice to get more definitiopn on the point of the moving dart - could rear curtain flash have done this? Just a quibble though - it's still a 10.

Wow, how many times did it take you to get this just right? or are you that good at darts? ; ) The dart board seems a little overly sharp, but that may be as a result of reflection from the lighting. Nice action shot

I'm a bit torn on the lighting on this one. I like the way it brings out the foil on the darts, but the bakground seems as if it's stuck between two worlds. As if it's not sure if it wants to be well lit, or darkened out. The same applies to the back portion of the dartboard -- darker or lighter. Great sense of action to the shot. I was thinking about how I'd do this -- dartboard facing up and the dart was dropped from above? Makes it a lot easier to guarantee where that third dart is gonna go...

Nice capture of the moving dart! I am one of the other 'dart boards' this week. I spent a lot of time trying to make a very similar shot but my 'flights' weren't helping me and I did not have the correct lighting to pull it off. Good job!!
