Congratulations on your placement! It was a tough field of competition (especially for a snake ;) )

The best of the snake photos IMO. Your use of the climbing rope adds some color, which was a very good idea. The snake's head haning out over the black background is a nice "pose." The point of focus seems to be more toward the center of the frame, however, and to my eye the head and tongue seem to be somewhat more soft than I would prefer. Still a great picture. Thanks for posting it!

Great design, the knot in the rope and the coiled snake are a nice touch.

Pretty! So Pretty! Very nicely done, the snake coming out, the bottle hanging there. The only thing that kept this from being a 10 is where the snake's head is positioned, it if was either on top fo the body or on the right side this would be perfection. The light is wonderful, the composition is devine and the lighting is perfect. But because of that darn placement of the head, a 9

very good, the cord arond the jar is a very great idea, it makes a good connection with the snake. Good luck.

Very creative pose with the jar and the rope. Looks great against the black background. Love that you caught the tongue out. Great lighting and focus.

Absolutely wonderful shot! Colours, clarity, set-up-I have just started looking, but I cannot imagine this not getting a ribbon. I'd make it a favourite, but I would be too creeped out!

BEAUTIFUL !!!! The pure black background is perfect - no distractions. The lighting is lovely and I love the unique way of displaying a snake. The only thing I don't like is the strong pattern in the rope competing with the snake pattern - a plainer color would have been better. Good DOF, great photo! 9

What an excellent shot! And cool contrast between the rope and snakey. I dig it. 9

This is a great setup, nice touch of color that doesn't take away from the detail in the snake at all. Well timed, too, I might add :)

Love the idea but would've liked to see it in B&W, the color on the rope is distracting.

I like the setup, I like the photo - only thing that I don't like is the rope color - distracting. Maybe shoulda unsat'd. Nice job though.
