I think your dodging and burning needs a little work, and the cross in the sky is a little crispy with the pixels. Sorry, but also im not fond of the mismatched placement of the stones on the ground as well. I think the sky is too bright and the ground is too dark, and I don't really like the colour of the sky. I really stand out from the rest of the commments, but this is how i feel.

Congratulations on your Yellow. Strong and impressive!

Nice work against the other "stiff competition"

amazing image. It really stands out and demands attention. The overexposed sky works well...congrats on your first ribbon.

I love the blown out section of sky. This is a classic example of when to break the rules! Nice work!

This has many strengths: the composition is very good (except it's maybe a little tite on the round-topped stone) and there's an appealing oevrall smoothness of tone. Two things (or maybe 3) bother me though: the highlights on the cross-topped monument seem overly bright, way out of proportion to the softness of the rest of the image. You have muted the sky significantly, so it is very obvious that these highlights "borrow" from a "different" sky. Another problem is the distinct haloing of the sky/hill border, which is a very distracting imperfection to me. Finally, I'm not convinced that the distinctly yellow cast you've thrown into the sky is working to your advantage.

So my judgment is that you SHOT a heck of an image but went a little off-track in your post-processing. Still a strong score but not top-tier for me.

Quite beautiful, the debate will remain whether to have gone all b/w, however impressive enough for a good bump.

A little busy for my tastes but love the light and lightiing.
Maybe a vertical composition with the cross and what appears to be a gate.

IMO this is the best in this competition. You have a beautiful sky with a nice foreground. Everything is in good focus. Job well done. 10

Beautiful picture! it looks as if it could go onto a postcard, or something like that! its just gorgeous. I do not, however, like your title. I think it goes with the subject, but it is disrespectful
