I have a blue merle Aussie too (see my portfolio).

I like the kindness this shows. Very sweet and soft.

My dog Rocket looks so much like yours. Aussies are my favorite breed. This is a very emotive and tender portrait.

complete adoration... this clearly meets the challenge... but why would you cut the top of the head off of such a lovely women?

Lovely greyscale photo of woman with dog. The juxtaposition of the dog's eyes open and the woman's eyes shut brings a sweet balance to this photo. Nice work.

The composition is good, glad you decided for the human to close eyes, makes it very special

Beautiful Portrait. You did well with keeping your eyes closed.

all i can say is - why are her eyes shut?
i think it's the only difference between a good shot and a great shot. everything other than that, i love.

This could have been better if the dog was looking more relaxed. Very nice compostion though.

I really like this image a lot. You have managed to avoid the look and feel of a simple snapshot. The pose looks natural, but also suggests a portrait of the two subjects. The expression on the face of the woman, with eyes closed is very powerful, and the natural way her hand rests with the dog's paw is just beautiful. I honestly don't think I'd change a thing. I agree with your choice to go black and white. Photographing people is tough, pets are cliche. You've managed to combine both into a picture that just works. I give it an 8.

Nice shot. Fits the theme. Crop is little tight for the girl.

This is very nice, but the pose seems a bit uncomfortable to me. I think it could be improved with a bit looser crop and a bit looser hold on the dog. The tones are beautiful.
