I've got to comment on this just to say I love this picture!

Thank you to everyone for your comments. They are much appreciated.
How I did this: Chair - 2" tall, dead bush from backyard (trimmed to look more like a tree, spray painted black) magenta/red silk background (silk chosen for added texture, color chosen to stay away from yellow), black fleece blanket (chosen for complete lack of reflection), beads shaped like stars.
I saturated the yellow and the red as far as possible without blowing out either color.
I thought a 'textured' background would work better - some agree and some disagree. I am creating a better version of this shot with a little less texturing, more "star" looking stars and a lighter background.
thanks again for all your input!

I think the red backdrop is distracting, but I like the rest of it...the chair adds the most surreal part for me.

The chair is the surrealist touch, 7 because the result is not quite perfect otherwise it would have been 9

Very interesting! It feels kind of Tim Burton-esque. Background is interesting, perharps more brushing would've given a more 'Cloud' effect, but nice idea non the less. The Perspective effect is also very well done. This is a strange and yet creepy kind of picture, and i like it. 6

I like this. Not sure how it fits into Surrealism, but who am I to say. The wrinkles in the red sheet are distracting... could be ironed out I guess.

Very cool mood lighing and color. I like the empty chair. thoughts of who was sitting in it or who will sit in it are interesting to think about considering the environment. nice sharp picture.

The wrinkles in the backdrop take away from the image. Otherwise good work.

Whoa. Not much more I can say about this one other than I'd hang it on my wall. Maybe 10-15 other images total in the year or so I have been here have struck me like this one.
