Thanks for the comments, they're all much appreciated. Basic editing is a pain, and I'm sorry I couldn't edit out the "splotches" (clean the sensor, Ursula).

Also, for those who were looking for colour, the bottle is an icky green, he, he, and the picture looks absolutely terrible in colour. Couldn't find a different bottle, and this is a last minute picture. So ... in spite of the description, I went with B/W. Grey is a colour, you know :)

Thisi s one of the most well done images of this type I have ever seen. Almost like a charcoal drawing. I hate to say this, but to be fair to those who truly met the challenge by integrating a "light color" with white, I feel I have to lower my score on your just a tad. I see a pure B & W image here and the challenge was very specific regarding a light color. Sorry. EDIT: after so much variance in the interpretation of the challenge, I am coming back through and this time judging on photogrpahic quality only, and not if it meets the challenge within reason. Bumping up.

I thought this was a beautifully framed and executed shot. Your attention to details (no waterspots and even reflections and shadows) makes this look like a true professional shot. Good luck.

great image and composition! don't you wish this were an advanced challenge so you could spot edit that one dot above the glass? I'm not discounting (although I'm sure many are) that your background is not pure white, but a very bright grey

Usually glass shots don't interest me but this is a exectpin. This is so smooth, flowing and simply elegant. The composition is very good. And the balance in light is brilliant. The reflections in the glass really add to the shot. Perfect framing.

i love the reflections on the bottle and in the glass, but would have preferred some color in the shot. White wine is usually a very light color to begin with and I think it would have added the extra pop to this well-composed and well-lit image. -7-

I think we have a winner! I predict you will take the blue! I hope I'm right, as I believe this is better than any other shot in the challenge by leaps and bounds! You have a couple of dust spots on your sensor, but with basic editing, you can't really do much. 10 from me!

I like the simple clean lines of this photo as well as the lighting. There are a couple of spots on your backgroud above and below the glass which are a bit distracting.

What is that grayish spec just above and below the glass? Whatever it is it is distracting even if it was meant to be there. I like it anyway bumping to a 7

I would have liked the background white instead of grey. Otherwise I like the composition and the overall smoothness of the picture.

i have a feeling i know what your week is going to be like, wondering how much the sensor dust is affecting your score...you have a very, very nice image that definitely nails the challenge. excellent lighting and composition. but, there are those spots that you couldn't edit out...i really hope they are overlooked, and not held against you. good luck!
