Windmill in the row of windmills that also includes Windmill D (another challenge).

Farstretched? Well, I don't even know what a billboard is supposed to look like. They are not very common in Holland because you need government permission for these things and have to pay a special tax. The normal commercial billboards over here are 5x4 and the smaller busstop ones are in portrait orientation.
So I'll give it a try with this photo and title. I was working on it to ask opinions in the forum anyway (a 4:3 full landscape) but tried to fit a 640x320 crop on this. It is very tight, but on the other hand, it puts the windmill right in your face and there is room at the right for the text.

Would you believe it was snowing at the time I shot this? Would have had to stop down to get a proper slow shutter to record it.

It was never the intention to use this one for a challenge. I got out of bed at 7.00AM (after being at fanatics until 1.40), the sky looked good and it was snowing so I got out to catch the morning light.

Great photo. One of my top picks. A few more clouds would add interest for me, but those are difficult props to move around. ;-) 8

Lovely image - would work well in the format (obviously with some text, URL and tourist board details!!). I particularly like the subtle clouds in the distance. The crop has crushedyour image though, but it was a 48hr challenge!

ok, i am voting this challenge in 2 passes. in this pass, you will get a partial comment and a score. then i will come back to comment again. if you have any problem whatsoever with this comment, pm me and let me know. otherwise, take it with a grain of salt...i'm not trying to be a know-it-all, i'm just explaining where i'm coming from in voting this challenge. and, if this comment is NOT helpful (of if you think i'm full of $#!+), don't mark it helpful.

billboards are a science unto themselves. a lot of research has gone into determining just how much information a person can digest and retain in specific time spans. they use this information to develop formulas for determining the number of words and letters to use on billboards, as well as their sizes. they also determine the size and number of visual elements to include.

the graphics/photograph on a billboard are designed to get the point across in a moment. on the road, a driver will have less time with a billboard than a voter will give your image. this is a key element in the challenge: composing a shot that will get its point across quickly and succintly. along those lines, a strong composition will probably have few details and make strong use of negative space.

this is a great idea for a billboard. gets the message across very well. one thing to keep in mind, as far as billboards go, is that they are typically laid out from left to right, with the graphics on the left and the verbiage on the right...just something to consider, but nothing i would vote you down for. good luck!

The simplicity evokes pleasant emmotions. I like it a lot! Great composure too. Kind of an odd yellow casty haze over the image...but thats my only hang up. Nice job.
