WOW what a stunning image. Just ran across it in your portfolio. The leading line and the overall gray tones speak volumes about the setting. Terrific!

I agree with Imagineer....the composition here is great and the subject is captured well. However, the "uber-burning" of the sky detracts from the effectiveness of the image, causing a beautiful photo to become a cartoon parody of itself.

Subject: very good and symbolic
Composition: strong main subject, but the person is weak & indistinct in the middle
Editing: don't like this kind of uber-burning. It's not well done I'm afraid and, in my view this contrived treatment is eroding DPC

Well done on your ribbon despite the last point.

I'm glad to see this ribbon; much more "depth" to it than the usual DOC fare. Not half bad for a "just to enter" submission :-)

A capture that visits a historical site to bring a nice slice to DPC. Impressive. Congratulations on your yellow.

I very nice pece that tells a story and conveys your message well. I feel thisfeits the challenge well and was beautifly composed. Two things stand out to me in this shot that realy enhance it. The word death softly written on the wall, and the wonderfull details you oicked up on the coblestone road. The only negative thing I can notice on this is the way the person is positioned against the hole in the wall. I feel these two aspects are great yet in this pespective they are overwhelming eachother and making it hard to distigish what the are. I think overlooking that this is an easy contender for a ribbon. With it.. it will be tough yet definately a possibity. Great shot kepp up the nice work.

The historical and political implications of this photograph capture the essence of the meaning of "separation."

Nicely composed, very fitting. Tough sky to dodge & burn considering the trees, buildings etc. ....8....

perfect for the challenge, there does seem to be a few obvious light areas from where the sky has been burnt, great image nonetheless - 8

I like the lines of the wall in the photo here, but something about the sky looks really artificial.

I was in Berlin and crossed over through Checkpoint Charlie in 1984 and you have captured the dismal feeling around the Wall with absolute perfection. Well done.

Nice dark and grey mood that goes well with the wall, good depth and strength because of the lines.
Sky looks like it has been dodged, that's not a problem, but it looks a bit sloppy around the trees. Sometimes the magic wand selection tool can help with isolating the sky from dark objects. But perhaps it just is as it is, in that case you can forget the previous two sentences.

That was the frist thing that came up to my mind! But as I don't live anywhere close to Berlin, I couldn't shoot it LoL!
Perfect! My second 10 for this challenge!
