 Idea:
Luxembourg city is famous for the hills and valleys it includes, and the bridges which cross the rivers Alzette and Pétrusse. The 'Pont Adolphe', also called 'Nei Bréck' (New Bridge) and sometimes 'L'Eiffel des ponts', was built between 1900 and 1903, during the reign of Grand-Duke Adolphe. It crosses the Pétrusse valley, which divides Luxembourg City into the Old Town and the 'quartier de la gare' (Railway station ditrict).
At the time it was built the Adolphe bridge was the longest single span stone bridge in the world. It is 143,6 metres long and 41 metres high. It's 100th anniversary was celebrated not long ago.

Setup:
The camera was on a tripod. I used a remote control to prevent shaking. The shot is taken from a panorama platform close to the bridge.

Post Processing:
Curves, HSL, resize, USM. No crop.

Comments:
I'd have liked to correct the lens distortion, it bothers me espacially on the buildings on the left. Outtakes and alternative submissions can be found on my homepage http://gloda.net (Gloda Designs).

I really love this shot. I was looking through the challenge pictures and I knew where this was instantly. Luxembourg is very beautiful at night.

Had to come back and add that I consider this a far better shot than what I submitted and would have been thrilled to have captured a shot like this. Bravo!

You caught the bits of illumination nicely, especially in the tree tops. But, this also feels slightly off horizontally.
