Congratulations on your 7th placing. A very sad image of survival.

Guess you had a leg up on the competition, huh? Man, I wish I could've found something like this. Oh wait... I did. ;-)

ROFL

Wish I had a zoom and could have cropped this one better when I shot it:

The "Weapon" wasn't optimal on that one...

Good shot, brave, stoic gull.

Very nice! Unexpected to see the bird with one leg. Quite a find. It must be tiring to stand like that all day. Poor bird needs a prosthetic... 10 from me

Head's a little too dark.

I'm a fan of this picture. If only this were an advanced editing challenge, you would have this in the bag. The bird's face isn't that detailed and a little dark. Burning and dodging would allow this picture to shine.

Wonderful shot. I'm sure the gull would say otherwise. A little more clarity or better focus on the bird would help, but I like this shot.

well captured. Gotta admire how wild animals can adapt to disabilities like this. 6

Poor bird. Great idea for the challenge. Would be great if the bird's head wasn't in shadows (but nature doesn't help sometimes).

Ok, now this is a picture that fits the challenge.
Did you go out with the idea "lets shoot a one-legged seagull" ?
Dunno if b/w works well.

Now you've got the spirit!
Poor bird, that must have hurt pretty bad!
I think the use of a colored shot, instead of a BW one would have a better effect on the whole shot.

Interesting idea, this interpretation would never have occured to me. You took a good shot of an injured animal wihtout being gross. I like the composition very much, good crop. The border works well, too. 9.
